In ffxi I can't cast raise on anyone if they already have had it cast on them, as long as the timer to accept is still ticking...
it isn't possible to waste another cast, as it should be in this game.
Should not even be possible tbh.
Dual cast/swiftcast are 100% fine as is, the ability to recast over and over on same person is the fault that needs fixing.
Please adjust/fix/alter/implement SE

I actually agree with this. Raise should be a hardcast always.
Nice non sequitur, now would you like to actually make an argument as to why 2 dps jobs competing with BLM for a spot should have to hardcast their main Utility aspect of their job for ~8 seconds and lose all that dps?
or how your complaint about never getting attempted hard raises is moot because if they won't raise without swift now they won't raise without swift then either?
No? because you don't have one? gotcha.

It wouldn't kill either job because neither are or should be defined by their ability to perform a healer's role. Healers should maintain superiority in all things curative--and that includes raising. Damage buffs would be in order for both jobs (they're already in order for SMN) for sure, though.
as long as raise exists within their kit, no matter how hard it is to access, they'll be taxed for that utility, so might as well remove them from the kit if they do that.It wouldn't kill either job because neither are or should be defined by their ability to perform a healer's role. First, that isn't strictly true. SE are very wishy-washy on how they tax anything aside from maybe mobility these past two expansions.
Second, I'll toss my own nuance: I wouldn't make raise ineligible for swiftcast. I would, however, make it ineligible for dualcast. SE has shown with the Acceleration changes that they can alter what spells are affected by what casting alteration abilities, so I would posit they remove the ability to dualcast raise but not swiftcast raise.
