    This sounds absolutely ridiculous. Gamepad player here - ironically I played FFXI and would have preferred keyboard/mouse but the inability to bind my arrow keys to the camera made that impossible - and this is just unfair. What about us players that like to lay down (not sure wtf that means but w/e) and play with a controller and *do* care about the casting speed? If this is just a fix for the 1.0 client and will actually make sense in 2.0, please let us know now so I can decide if I'll continue supporting this game with my money.

    yea... and people are like "Yoshi wouldn't add it if it was that bad"

    Yea right... This is from the team that didn't realize people outside of Japan had worse lag
    They had to set up a thread asking people to post their tracert's?
    SE: Oh you're having trouble dodging plumes? thats odd....

    So whatever delay yoshi P is expecting... Everyone outside of Japan expect 3 times longer

    that's fine if you are one that uses macros alot. for those of us that actually use the bars because it's more comfortable then what we have now is getting downgraded. i am one that hates using macros in this game because it has a tendency to skip lines in the macro and some parts aren't used.

    Why!!!?? Why do you Have to change walking and casting SE? Can't you just leave as it is? I never got why change this. How the hell I'm supposed to heal my party members when the constantly kite and run attacking? Did you guys ever play the game?

    I dont normally read posts where people feel the need to caps lock for emphasis, but this man actually has a point here. I struggle with computer programming, and I bet even i could write something to do this.

    personally, I dont understand why they just dont make the minimum cast time on spells match a minimum requirement computers "inertia" with half second cast time spells be castable while on the move so inertia isnt an issue.

    It takes just a little bit of thinking outside the box, but a variable that toggles between two values. one value for when the toggle is moved, and another for when it isnt. when it toggles to the off position, it sends a notification to the server to let it know spells are castable now. from here, spell cast timers can make up for the remaining inertia. having a face target button is.... an added step, another button.

    I thought last casting update was to get rid of extra button pushes, why are they adding more button pushes now?

    Uhn. You need to wait half of a second between letting go of the control stick and confirming the target of your spell, you will also not simply loose your spell to the cancelling effect because it doesn't lets you start casting while moving, so it's easy enough to adapt to this by simply doing what we all did (or at least I did) before action queuing came by, hitting the button until the ability goes off.

    I admit this game is pretty fast but not as fast as that little action getting in the way of anything. Unless i'm wrong, I haven't done Ifrit or Moogle yet, so.

    Also, before you say it, the 'brake' button is not lagless at all, it has the exact same lag letting go of the directional button, it does gives a better synchronization between server and client because the client assures the server of wtf is going on at the screen. Depending on what gets judged by the server as correct, you will either be 'lag-jumping' in other player's screens or you will get corrected in your own screen if you're suffering from heavy lag. It's not as much a panacea as it seems.

    Disclaimer: My technical knowledge is very small, I could be wrong in all this, it's just suppositions
