There is none. Any type of 3rd party software is not allowed by SE, so it's either play windowed, or hope nothing takes focus from your ffxiv window. The very first windower managed to create true, non-crashing fullscreen but was shut down by SE because it involved injecting itself into the ffxivgame process, which is basically a hack.

Well, the thing I was using just repositioned the window. It wasn't like the xi windower where you could run plugins and stuff. Thanks for the information though, I guess I'll just eyeball it for now.

Yes. SE still rates it as illegal, just not pursuing people actively... yet. I wish they'd just fix the crash for 1.0. If a hacker can do it, then they should be able to, too.

Don't even need a hacker. Only takes a single Windows API call to hide the border and center the window (any window on-screen, not just FF).

Except that's not fullscreen (aka DX exclusive mode) but "windowed fullscreen", which means the rest of the programs might still be rendered (flash, video) and Crossfire/SLI won't work.

I'm guessing what the first windower did was wrapping itself around the exe and handling the exceptions correctly. This exception ("Lost Device") we're getting is really a basic one, and every competent programmer should be able to implement exception handling for it unless they are lazy. No, our current engine is not an excuse as proof of concept (namely the first windower) already exists.

The original Windower still works. It's what I use... I enable the alternative detection mode so the login application isn't compromised. I can't recall where I found it. Once the game loads a DLL is loaded into the process's memory space, disables the border and allows you to change monitor resolutions without crashing the game. You still must set the game to run in a Window.

Hi, This my sound like a stupid question, but How do you set your FPS to 30? I'm using GeForce GTX 460M and I couldn't find the option to adjust the FPS anywhere in the nvidia control panel.

    It's inside the game. Menu->Configuration->System I think.

This has already been posted in the poll thread.

    50mbps cable connection
MSI 6950 Twin Frozr III (O.C.)
Intel I7 2600K @ 4.2GHz which is water cooled, mind you.
ASUS Maximus Extreme IV mobo (one of the sickest gaming mobos)
FFXIV Installed onto a pretty quick SSD, dedicated specifically to FFXIV

And to add, my Windows Experience Index aka System Rating is 7.2 and that's without extremely O.C.ing RAM, CPU, and Graphics card.

I can understand if I'm not able to use either of the two options in the config, one of them being the Depth of Field... but seriously? This lag.. is a joke.

I'm aware that the servers are in Japan. But I think it's time to focus on the hardware. Drop some hardware in the middle of the U.S. and in the EU.

And I'm curious, what hardware do they use to host this game on? I would cringe at the idea of the hardware being anything BUT Cisco.

So please SE, get the bugs, and the lag out.. that should be your next project manager's priority.

    To add:

Please do NOT tell me it has anything to do with my computer nor my internet connectivity.. THAT claim is a damn joke.

After this server merge.. if the lag gets any worst than this, I quit. I don't need to pay to play a broken game with new content on it, that is simply illogical.

And by the way, I can even see the lag problem when I'm crafting for goodness sake.. that's BARELY any animation involved. To add.. I've played one too many MMOs of all sorts to know better than to believe it's a problem on my end.

Edit: With my system I should easily handle 60fps
