SE actually did make all of the Tower hats work

As expected, they look fine on Hrothgar (if not a bit large) ... looks utterly trash on Viera. Wonder if most people realize that all the headgear in that Dng works on them ... I'm the only Viera I've seen wear those hats.

Makes sense though, these are dress up dolls to people and most people playing Viera prob don't want to make a vaguely Soviet military hat a part of their glam. They want the straw hats and Red Mage hats and other cute/ pretty things that will show hair.
SE should hire me, coulda told them years ago that people woulda been fine with "long eared Miqote" instead of going for full Fran Viera if they could only make hats that take away all the hair "work" on them.

They went for the easiest route just letting ears clip through. I'm fine with it to be honest, is not that glaring of bad. At least is better than not having them at all.

However it irks me that there are a TON of old headgear like bandanas, turbans, the calfskin cap, some simpler hats that could have the ears just clip through without issue at all, and would look better than those hats.

Because they would actually have to rework our hair for those other hats you mentioned and they don't seem to want to do that, clearly they don't mind ears clipping so it has to be the hair.

Like you said it looks fine but the only reason the Tower hats show up for us is because they remove the entire hairstyle, we already had working headgear that does that so it's hardly news-worthy or deserving of a round of applause that they "made it work".

It is because those hats replace the hair. That is why they work. And also look bad. The turbans and bandanas would force SE to make viera hat hair, and they have no interest in that.

Oh I see... I forgot that they would need the "hat friendly" version of the hair underneath, which one would suspect they didn't make, at least for the unique base hairstyles.
