Viera and Hrothgar Megathread

I think it's best for everyone to keep their expectations in check on this one. Hrothgar's hair nonsense is even tied to their face features options, they literally made Middies pay $10 for a single new face to have stubble as default.
I legit have no clue how they're gonna address this, and the only solutions I can stitch together in my mind would be hilariously on brand for their handling of these races. (As in "Make a brand new Hrothgar head that's shaped in a way that allows it to use shared hairstyles in its fur pattern tab". I'm interested in seeing what they do, cause that seems like something they would do at this point)

I used fantasia last night, but haven't actually gone through with switching yet. The option is there on my login page for when 6.1 drops.
I am tired of the lack of options compared to the other races: lack of hairstyles and headpieces, badly implemented hairs and headpieces. I wouldve traded the customizable ears for the ability to have all hairstyles and headgear.
I dont want floating bows or tiaras or having to pick the flattest hairstyle because the others clip so badly with the few headpieces we get.
I love my viera and I feel sad about leaving her but a great part of my gameexperience is playing with looks/glams

I was wondering if the ribbons float miles away from the back of the head on other races too, but I rarely see anyone wear any.

Tried Viera and the simple fact that not even
NEW hats don't show is sad. Just a no for me lol.
It's hard to get over the lack of headgear for me to play them tbh.

I think my frustration started growing alot around the eden raids when the headgear clipped really badly with 80% of the few hairstyles viera had. I really started feeling like I was being robbed of experiencing the same fun as others. I know people say that au ra horns clip but Ive played au ra and I have not really experienced this to be that big of an issue with them and even then, au ras have access to all headgear and hairstyles anyways so it doesnt really bother as much since they can be way more versatile.

I'm just trying to stop using fantasias altogether. All it is doing is rewarding SE for keeping viera as limited as they are. I had meant to stop around the start of ShB, but I got annoyed with the viera limitations, and since then I have spent hundreds in fantasias just going back and forth off them. There is no incentive for SE to really fix the issues (quickly at least), if they are getting more money not too - this includes hrothgar.

The clipping for au ra is mostly just bad if you like wearing helmets, but I'd say they are better than miqo'te even when it comes to hats. The simple fact that they aren't limited has been the deciding factor for me playing them over viera in the past. The big issue with viera and the headgear that works, is probably the big, puffy, styles, so the headgear will either float, or clip with many alternative styles. Unfortunately, they have so few hair options, that it can be difficult to find something that works with those headpieces. I do hope viera will be updated more frequently over time, new hairstyles are a must for this race.

SE actually did make all of the Tower hats work

As expected, they look fine on Hrothgar (if not a bit large) ... looks utterly trash on Viera. Wonder if most people realize that all the headgear in that Dng works on them ... I'm the only Viera I've seen wear those hats.

Makes sense though, these are dress up dolls to people and most people playing Viera prob don't want to make a vaguely Soviet military hat a part of their glam. They want the straw hats and Red Mage hats and other cute/ pretty things that will show hair.
SE should hire me, coulda told them years ago that people woulda been fine with "long eared Miqote" instead of going for full Fran Viera if they could only make hats that take away all the hair "work" on them.

Because they would actually have to rework our hair for those other hats you mentioned and they don't seem to want to do that, clearly they don't mind ears clipping so it has to be the hair.

Like you said it looks fine but the only reason the Tower hats show up for us is because they remove the entire hairstyle, we already had working headgear that does that so it's hardly news-worthy or deserving of a round of applause that they "made it work".
