Petition for Legacy pre-Endwalker Sound Option

Agreed, if it's possible. I have older hardware, yes, but neither the benchmark nor any advanced warning told me they were going to make changes to put the game out of the reach of that hardware. I could have planned to take measures. They took our money for the expansion happily knowing they had this change in the pipeline. They need to do something to fix things for affected customers.

Supporting this idea as well.
While my hardware is a bit older as well, the benchmark score I got was 9.1k which is well into the "High Performance" list, and a couple tiers above Standard Performance.
I've been able to play Halo Infinite's free Multiplayer with 60fps, so I shouldn't have any issue with FFXIV, and shouldn't need to drop half a grand upgrading the computer just to remove "popping" from one single game.
That would not be a fix, that's just strong-arming a solution and not addressing the actual problem.

Yes please! My hardware is also bit older, but I got High in benchmark and this should NOT be an issue.

Been playing the game a week with the game muted because of this issue and postponed doing the new msq dungeons and trials until i can actually hear the music and dialogue. Posting for the sake of posting for potential fix or legacy sound option.

Great idea, I'm sick of sound randomly breaking while playing the game. This happened maybe once every few months in the old engine versus every second day on the new one. Not sure it helps but I'm on a completely new rig too so I don't think it's just older hardware suffering from these issues

That's a really good idea. People with audio issues could switch back to the 5.5 version and the ones without could just keep playing.

Because it's a request, not a "tech support" question. They have a specific format they want in the tech support forums.

Basically, thousands of players have been experiencing horribly distorted audio because of the sound engine changes that came with Endwalker based around the new third party spatial audio plugin. 6.0 introduced a lot of problems that, for a part of that group, were manageable. 6.01 broke it completely and created a situation where the in-game audio is absolute and complete sound garbage.

This is from -before- the 6.01 complete broke sound. Imagine this distorted sound, but now 10 times worse and completely unavoidable.
