I think it's interesting that people are more concerned about hairstyles than hats. We have virtually no hat options and that's including signature hats like AF hats *Cough* Red Mage. Like would it be that time-consuming for their art team to spend a week picking the most iconic hats and creating Viera versions of them?

The reason why I'm not mentioning hats as often is because it gets boring having the same people quote me saying "Viera are SUPPOSED to be a limited race get over it we have more important issues like the ques/removing gender lock"

Hat issue is a result of lack of time, and at this point, developer laziness, not an intended feature. There's no excuse since modders have figured it out by now before the devs have.

I have this little fantasy that once the guy who is doing that hatmod is finished, SE will just buy it from him....

This has more to do with allowing the items to actually show on Viera / Hrothgar than adjusting it to the body, most of the gear scales with the body on its own, Highlander, Midlander, Miquote, Viera, all share the same body model, just with different scaling proportions.

Having the ears clip through the helmets or hats isn't such a big problem at all

Honestly, it's probably not just the clipping, but the hat hair as well that they'd have to do. If they don't promise headgear, it's less work.

We have had discussions about hats a long time ago, I think people are just annoyed with the hairs now because for some reason they decided on THOSE specific hairs when people have been wanting all the others for a long time. And now there is no telling when any other will be added. We can no longer trust that they will actually give us what they say.

True, many times. I am not a quiet disgruntled viera player, and have been a part of those discussions. I do wonder what their criteria was when choosing hairs, was it just at random? I can understand the Snow/Lightning hair at least. Why ponytail specifically, etc.? There is no telling. It just seems we will get what we get when we get it. That's about it. No saying which hairs or not. Kind of sucks, but that's how it is for viera players.

I was really hoping the Both Ways hairstyle was gonna be one of the ones they ported over, too I hope it's coming because it's one of my favourites.

You and me both! It's a great looking style, and is also great for avoiding clipping with many tops.

I think they prioritized ones that were probably easier to implement than others, also different styles might be more popular in other regions than in ours and they probably factor that in as well because they said they prioritized these due to them being high demand and I really almost never see anyone wearing most of them. There's also probably some consideration for if they were a grind to get, such as Controlled Chaos.
