Postpone Patch 6.05 - The Hardest Thing to Say

You care about queues? Only complaints I have seen have been about the client crashes while in said queues. I think you do not understand where 90% of the rage has come from in this expansion launch. That said error is being fixed in the patch you want to delay.

Yeah true. There is just the problem that letting people farm the weekly locked normal mode tokens for more than 2 weeks makes the crafted gear obsolete.

Eh, yes and no? Overmelded HQ combat gear will probably still be better than the normal raid gear, so I don't think it obsoletes it. (Albeit we don't know how much better it will be, since this is our first post-stat-squish tier and we don't have a lot of data by which to judge anymore.)

I do agree that having four weeks of normal tokens rather than two does shift the balance of things going into the tier slightly, though.

I'll have to disagree with pushing it back.

simple reason is they have a patch schedule for a reason, and moving one can mess up their development cycles.

plus, as they said in their latest release, it implements a fix for the login queue issue, which I doubt anyone wants to delay

Brief clarification again: the error 2002 fix is coming in 6.01 (this coming Tuesday), alongside the normal raids. The savage raid tier -- the thing people seem concerned about in this thread -- is coming in 6.05 (two weeks from this coming Tuesday), the patch under discussion in this thread.

Savage isn't the only thing in 6.05, but savage and the error 2002 hotfix are not in the same patch.

I don't personally think either patch needs to be delayed, even as much trouble as my static's having getting everyone online at the same time, but the two patches are getting conflated many places, and they aren't the same thing.

I mean, delaying the patch won't fix the problem though, unless it's delayed until the manufacturers fix their production, but that might take even years as far as we know. When the raids come out, no matter for how long you delay it, interest will spike again and we will continue having massive queues because there will be a new FFXIV patch but no new servers.

Technically speaking, they are releasing the fix in it's own Patch on Monday, 6.01, which is different then the patch introducing the raid content.

Edit; I misread it's on Tuesday, not Monday.
