If there was any other situation I would agree with the perspective, but considering there's "No end in sight" of this congestion as of yet, it literally makes no sense to delay the raid for an "undetermined amount of time" for a unanimous player opinion of "yeah it's back to normal".

Obviously, the dev team believes or has the sample size to tell that the group still affected by any remaining errors is miniscule compared to the remaining playerbase enjoying Endwalker.
Well, I think it’s probably also the fact that they’ve narrowed down the cause of the 2002 errors and that means less potential disconnects and queues that are easier to plan for. Which makes static raiding a slightly less daunting task than it could’ve been potentially.

Hopefully the fix next week settles it!

I’m thankful I decided not to do a static this tier. Otherwise I’d be in a poor situation if congestion persisted. Sympathies to those who may struggle, of course, to be present at an appropriate time for their party.

Because a 2 week delay caused problems for many players who had taken time off for launch. You think there aren't players who take time off for savage?

Because there is other content in the patch many players look forward to.

And most importantly, because a week or two delay doesn't actually do anything to change the queue times. Anyone still playing a month after early access launch is doing more than just MSQ.

A Delay would solve nothing but postpone the issue its not gonna magically be fixed or die down anytime soon
the first raid tier is always the most popular one

One of those instances where I agree. I don't think I'd have fun with waiting 4000+ everyday to enjoy content. Better when the servers are stable.

Not everything needs to be decided because 'oh no my static group can't be together and we might not be first and be special.'
It's worth noting that while the second and third savage raid tiers (i.e., patches 6.2 and 6.4) will drop at the same time as their normal story-mode counterparts (and the MSQ chapters for those patches, for that matter), the first savage raid tier drops with 6.05 (four weeks after release) and the normal story-mode raids for that first tier drop separately only two weeks after release, with 6.01 (this coming Tuesday).

They do this specifically so that folks have a month to level things to cap, enjoy the main expansion story, etc., before the race for savage clears starts.

Folks saying to delay patch 6.05 specifically generally mean to delay just the savage tier -- and the associated race for world-first clear -- as opposed to delaying the normal raid tier (i.e. patch 6.01) and the normal raid storyline that goes with it.

I aim to make my posts engaging and entertaining, even when you might not agree with me. And failing that, I'll just be very, VERY wordy.

They should not delay anything content related. It has nothing to do with the servers and will not free up any resources to alleviate the issues. Good on them for keeping on track as they should. Even if it takes me longer to complete the tier cause some night we may need to call it off if someone DCs. Keep the content rolling, we can always catch up later.

Patch 6.05 has a new map dungeon, new crafting recipes and the associated mad rush to make gil with them, and a new tomestone to farm for anyone who is already done with the uncapped one. It isn't just the savage tier.

Sure -- and I'm looking forward to all of those things, personally. (Though I'd argue some of those -- new crafting recipes/materials, new mastercraft books, and so on -- are functionally part of the savage raid tier, not a separate thing. Hence why they always release alongside savage.)

But if someone's objecting to the delay specifically because they don't want to wait for the normal raid storyline, any potential delay in 6.05 wouldn't be relevant to that concern. So when I said folks asking for a 6.05 delay want to "delay just the savage tier" I meant "delay just the savage raid tier, as opposed to the savage and normal raid tiers."

(I grant I could've made that more explicit, rather than relying solely on the context of it being a statement in reply to a specific post in the thread.)

If a static starts raiding in February because the raid got delayed, that's exactly the same as starting raiding in February because they came to a mutual decision to do that. Well... there is one difference. Their parses won't look as good on FFLogs when the average gear level is higher than theirs. Is that what the problem is?

Yeah true. There is just the problem that letting people farm the weekly locked normal mode tokens for more than 2 weeks makes the crafted gear obsolete.
