Why? Is raiding a limited time event that you can't complete if you have to postpone activities?

Solid disagree. The raids aren't going anywhere and it sure isn't the end of the world if you don't get to clear it the first day the raid drops.

Keep up with what?
I may be being mildly facetious here, but, being a week or two behind on upgrading gear isn't actually holding any player back from running anything. What are they in such dire need to "keep up" with if they will still (optimistically, in all likelihood) be able to complete gear upgrades by the release of 6.1, or whenever it is that said upgrades become obsolete/necessary for the next batch of upgrades (for raiders I think that'd end up being 6.2?).

If a static starts raiding in February because the raid got delayed, that's exactly the same as starting raiding in February because they came to a mutual decision to do that. Well... there is one difference. Their parses won't look as good on FFLogs when the average gear level is higher than theirs. Is that what the problem is?
Yeah true. There is just the problem that letting people farm the weekly locked normal mode tokens for more than 2 weeks makes the crafted gear obsolete. But if someone's objecting to the delay specifically because they don't want to wait for the normal raid storyline, any potential delay in 6.05 wouldn't be relevant to that concern. So when I said folks asking for a 6.05 delay want to "delay just the savage tier" I meant "delay just the savage raid tier, as opposed to the savage and normal raid tiers."

Eh, yes and no? Overmelded HQ combat gear will probably still be better than the normal raid gear, so I don't think it obsoletes it. (Albeit we don't know how much better it will be, since this is our first post-stat-squish tier and we don't have a lot of data by which to judge anymore.)
I do agree that having four weeks of normal tokens rather than two does shift the balance of things going into the tier slightly, though.
I aim to make my posts engaging and entertaining, even when you might not agree with me. And failing that, I'll just be very, VERY wordy.Originally Posted by Packetdancer
