After Goobbue mount - do we need other mounts than a choco?

Didn't read thread, but in response to OP.

I barely see anyone use Goobue over chocobo, so I don't think it matters how many mounts they add. People love the chocos!

it's a new ff with new ideas and we wanted the goober so they gave it to us! i like the multiple mounts and i prefer the goober to the choco because of how awkward the choco looks as it runs-it totally needs a longer stride or something; they don't look like powerful birds and instead just look like they're stuck in fast-forward.

goober is definitely a pretty out there mount but once again i think it's only because we asked for it and they have to satisfy us up until 2.0 and it will be interesting to see if they decide to add anymore (just really hope there are NO flying mounts because it totally breaks the immersion!!!). lederp.

Think of it this way:

Breeding different breeds (colors) of chocobos to do different things is a lot more FF like than 1,000,000 mounts that does the same thing. They can do a lot more with the chocobo system than cave in to the people who wants a ton of mounts for the sake of it. Funny enough, people want something like "mount only accessible areas"...wasn't that exactly why you bred different chocobos in FFVII and IX...yet people are against that but rather have different mounts that does that.

It kind of proves a point people are more looking at this as a MMO they want to be exactly like every other MMO you've played the past decade, rather than a FF game that happens to be an MMO.

It's funny you mention "Mount only accessible areas", something that the mounts I mentioned fulfilled. X lacked chocobos that allowed us to cross rivers, so we used a shoopuf. V used a variation of this with Boco, black chocobos, and a wind drake. Stop acting like chocobos have been the only transportation we've ever used. Each game has it's methods of transportation that fit into the world that takes place, some of which performed the exact same function, others used only for specific locations.

You talk of breeding and forget that it was only an option in 2 games thus far (VII and XI). FF "tradition" isn't as strict as you'd like it to be so deal with it.

Just admit it, the lore was shoehorned in to appease people, it doesn't "Make sense" it is what it is. You can like them all you want just don't try and pull that on me because we all know the Lore they added was total BS just to give it some slight reason to even exist.

Different types of mounts are good imo. Not everyone will be the same, and not many use them anymore. I still use my goobbue because I love the music, and the viewpoint is awesome. Choices are great.

I didn't forget anything. VII, IX and XI all had breeding in a way. FFIX's was "bred" by treasure hunting and Hot&Cold. Also, no one said chocobos were the only form of transportation ever, it was a point that considering YOSHIDA HIMSELF wants a "My chocobo system"...how does it not make sense to do an approach they've done with FF before?

It's not that people think FF is strict, it's more people seem to feel they shouldn't do something they've done before in the series just because it's an MMO.

Oh please, the lore was allready well established on how "Tamed" monsters are. Like I said don't try and pull that over on people because you know as well as I do that the "Lore" they threw at us was out of left field at contradicts the games established lore on how one binds a savage beast. (Note it didn't end well for Uldah) Unless everyone has a Thaumaturg stuck in their pockets 24/7...

I don't care if you think a thousand mounts is awesome or not, just stop trying to justify it's place in the game in a lore way. It's a extra thing that exists for the reason of existing it makes no sense so stop trying to justify it in such a way. Just admit you want the mounts because you think they are cool to have not because you think the lore allows you to justify it.
