Would love wow to become a great game. I always liked the feral druid when I tried the game but the bugs, unwelcoming playerbase and disgusting company decisions put me off. I avoid anything activision blizzard. I always enjoy classed that let me shapeshift! It's the one thing I wish ffxiv had!

I also root for WoW.

FFXIV is great, and I don't think that's going to change except for being greater still as time goes by. That said, its sad to see how far WoW and Blizzard have fallen. I know a lot of players stubbornly sticking to it for one reason or another. I hope it gets better for their sake, and I hope Blizzard as a company changes for the better for the sake of it's developers and other employees.

It's main problem over the last 10 years or so has been the attitude that Everything About the Story that is Important must be Written in a Book and extensively hand-waved in-game.

How they handled the Trial of Garrosh after Mists (in a Book) was a crime against players everywhere.

Cairne being killed off in a book was worse IMO. His son is the blandest cow alive.

WoW will never improve until they replace all the devs working on it. The dev team blatantly ignoring community for years is why it sucks. The fake virtue signaling also doesn't help things either. Dev team is very good at developing problems to deal with the problems they created.

I also would like WoW to have a lot of their players back because a lot of them are bad. Though they do put on a good show when they get a stack marker. Comedy gold.

So what exactly is wrong with former WoW players like myself playing FFXIV? I'm a customer paying for a product like anyone and I've simply decided this is the game I'd rather spend my time and money on.

I get the impression you're just going to come out with an argument that's nothing more than toxic gatekeeping. If you're going to hold that kind of opinion, at least have the balls to just say it.

You are not a problem. There were indeed some... shall we say, surprises when the WOW players arrived. Maybe it's just my usual lack of luck, but a lot more dps that were going to pull, and some pretty bad rushes that ended in disaster (and yes, they were WOW players: I was asking in a humorous way).

In short: sometimes different playing habits, but nothing dramatic when everyone agrees to put some effort.

Otherwise, it's obvious that it's a pleasure to see the current popularity of FFXIV. So it's nice to welcome you. In the best of worlds, it will wake up Blizzard and remind them of the beautiful game they have in their hands - so they'll stop considering it as a farm cow, without any consideration for its qualities.

Well iam not particular against WoW players but why now?
Because your favourite Streamer(s) try the game?
If your favourite Streamer jumps off a Cliff - will you do the same?
Just do it because YOU want to do it and not because of a Streamer.

Another thing i do not understand is:
WoW players complain about their community and about their game but all i see is that you guys are so used to WoW that a lot of those WoW World first Raiders for example use a specific plugin UI to change the FF14 UI into a WoW UI.
You bring almost everything to FF14 what you hated in WoW...included toxicity... just be open for something New

Do not try to change FF14 into WoW.

I played SWToR for almost a decade and now i play ff14 for a year and a half.

FF14 can be a new start for you like it was for me.
