It's not really an excuse - but with more jobs (and therefore more artifact gear), and more races (therefore more models for every piece) - I bet we actually have MORE new gear models in Endwalker than any previous expansion.
Even if it feels like a lot less.

More of the same models, and way too many capes. Pretty much unusable for tailed races.

Anyway, it was only a matter of time until we started receiving less gear due to a variety of reasons - more races to fit gear to being one of them. You'd think with the increasing success of FFXIV, SE would expand, and their team(s) could get the seemingly much needed resources, to increase the quality of the game, but apparently that isn't the case.

This is something that you should have seen coming from miles aways. Tanks, caster, ranged and melee are all sharing the same style with themselves.

Who said anything about dyeable? As the OP states, some of the stuff they reused wasn't even dyeable.

Just think for a moment how many gear sets there are, and not just from dungeons but crafting, raids, etc. And that there will be at least 5 variations for each based on role.

The fact the art team can come up with any new designs at all is approaching miracle stage.

I don't see it as an issue, especially as glamours are a thing and widely used.

My RDM has pretty much overwritten any gear with the level 70 AF appearance for the last 4 years, so never mattered what the gear originally looks like to me.

Though, the new 90 RDM AF is great so I may be heading towards setting that up as a glamour plate now

Are you for real? There lots of things they can do. Like try difents ff14/dragon quest gear and make something like it.or just playingly somewhat copy from different games/anime/history looks. He bearly got Japanese looking sets,here you go. Or just be more lazy and role swap the sets.

I suppose the focus was nearly entirely set to the MSQ... reused models means that the 3D artists were doing something else with their time... Not that I think if it's justifiable or not, but it feels that is the only plausible reason fir it. As to note, the quality of the MSQ cutscenes, from an animation and asset point of view, is superior than the previous expacs.

On that note, I think Endwalker might've been the xpac launched with the least amount of "other" stuff like glams and whatnot, not any conclusive data, but it feels that way compared to ShB. Hopefully the patch that will unlock the raids will also add more stuff in that realm.

But one thing that I do agree was with the choice of reused sets through the leveling. We get Bonewicca and that other one, that were already dyeable... and Neo Ishgardian. They could've given older sets that aren't dyeable yet.

Possibly but there could be a reason for that, such as a plan for a future zone where such a style will be implemented.

I love Endwalker but my god they used the exact same set basically for both healer and casters for the new tomeset! and it looks god awful for male character players!
