I don't think that is is smart as a community to just go over who is right or wrong in terms of solutions.
I mean everyone - like really everyone - needs to realize that this situation is as bad as it can ever get for a large portion of the playerbase. Likely everyone that prefers to just normally log in in the evening to enjoy gaming with friends on a more casual shedule. ALL THOSE PLAYERS ARE LOCKED OUT. COMPLETELY. This is just the reality of the situation. There is no making it good in any way.
Now we too have the situation with Square. Here we have another reality: NO EASY SHORT-TERM FIX.
So what do people do? They think about what can be done or what could have been done. And some of those speculations surely have merit in theory. And they complain - of course. And I do think they do have every right to do so. Even if it does not help the situation. However, I honestly do think it can help. And if you ask me why, I just answer this way: For companies, everything is about calculations. If they deem worth it, they might spend a hella lot on resolving a situation like this.
And for this situation. This, undoubtedly, will go down as the worst launch in MMORPG history. Because it is. In all likelyhood, we will have at least 14 days (we almost are there, it is day 10 now!) where casual evening players had no way to access the game. For some worlds, this is likely to continue right into 2022.
I mean, Imagine the headlines? "One year later. I still could not log into FFXIV servers". Might be missleading because soon this year is past. But just the sound of this. So I say it again. There is no defending this situation. Even if you are one of those players that can sit in queues for hours and are able to play the game, you should not be ignorant of those around you that want nothing more to just join more - but simply can not do so because of our everyday lifes.
