Please rest assured that our Development/Operations teams will put everything into easing congestion and ensuring stable operations. Due to the shortage of semiconductors generated by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, we unfortunately cannot expect to add new Worlds immediately, but we will continue to take the best measures we can.

We are steadily making progress toward adding logical data centers for all regions and the addition of multiple new Worlds, with the cooperation of our vendors in each country. As soon as we are able to, we will let you know about these developments as well.
I appreciate your continued understanding and support regarding this topic.
Heh, cannot add new worlds immediately and steadily making progress towards adding logical data centers for all regions, not so impossible after all.

But that is the question, how long of a timeframe is this talking about when they say 'steadily making progress?' Months? A year?

No idea, that's something SquareEnix will have to answer for, but it is a much more agreeable tone than all the impossible, done all they can blah blah butt licking shill excuses I've heard on this forum so far :P

Sorry, should we have added "wait until they get new hardware" to the list of things they should be doing?

Cuz, pretty sure everyone has been saying they've done all they can until they can get new hardware.

You spelled "we're not going to do jack, but when the problem fixes itself, we will allow you to grovel at our feet lavishing us with praise." wrong. That's why there's always the "we are doing something" but when things gets better, they won't take credit for it (and if they do, they're full of it) and allow gullible fools to polish their boots with gusto.

Of course, in FFXIVs case, they don't need to actually tell people to grovel since some do it out of their own volition.

On that note, I'll just add that I haven't had problems, so i'm not complaining. I just wanted you to look at reality, as this is exactly what all companies do if they can.

It seems to me the best thing they could do in the short term is make the queue more reliable. I'm on a wired connection and while I don't get a LOT of 2002 disconnects, I still get some most any time I sit in the queue (mercifully, so far I've never lost my spot when I connect back in).

If you lose your connection, instead of just giving up and booting you out of the client, why can't it simply keep trying to reconnect until it does, without having to go through booting up the client and logging back in again?

From the explanations they've given, kinda sounds like it's because "trying to reconnect" would run counter to the purpose of the errors. If it's booting players because the queue is overloaded, trying to reconnect players into the queue would just result in a loop of overload, kick, reconnect, overload.
