I laughed.
I think as far as the old school ffxi players are concerned we are really just sticking to where our friends are at. I am a 7 year ffxi vet myself and server hopping because my ffxi friends and I got scattered at launch because of servers being full and unable to get on them but didnt want to restart. As far as I know there is no specific server for a large group of vets gathering to my knowledge.so are all the ffxi players spread out or do we have a server or specific linkshells that are out there still running there shells like linkshells and not guild'ish. just wondering if i should be trying to transport to a specific server to get that ffxi feel?
also are there linkshells running like ffxi still or at least plan on it when more real meaty endgame that takes more then 8people are out? have a feeling a lot of shells even the larger ones will sink when anything that takes more the 16people comes out. so if there are really strong linkshells that plan on playing this game for years or ffxiv's life time already out there? lot of shells are gaming communities, they don't last like hnmls's did and kinda what i'm looking for.

always looking for good people.
Why are there just so many blatant anti-FFXI trolls in this thread? The forums are not the place to seek attention, for that go to your mother's house.
I played XI, First on Fairy, then on Sylph. Played for about 5 years over 2 characters, all 20 jobs between the levels of 22~89 and every expansion up to Heroes of Abyssea. I started XIV when my linkshell (PureInsanity) started talking about moving to this game. Ironically, because of the bad start, most chose to stay with XI, and of the few who did move, several apparently quit, one was forced to quit due to a hacked account, and one I ran into once months later, and never saw again.
I continued to play XI off and on for about 5~6 months after XIV started, and let my account run out due to RL issues, never got around to renewing it because of the billing changes. I'm somewhat tempted to renew just to see old friends.
