Should Savage be Delayed?

Day 1 raiding teams often ask their players to take a week of vacation if they're in the serious hunt for the world first race.

That said, I'm in agreement that they should consider delaying Savage. My team isn't one of the world first groups; we just like the challenge of doing it at current level. But our main tank has been able to play maybe 2 hours a day for the last week, and he's only level 82 at this point as a result.

If there is such a long queue it would be a disaster. But at this point if it gets delayed I don’t know if some of us can still move their PTO. We can only hope and pray that it will be less congested by that time

If the content is ready, I see no reason to delay it. The world first race is such a minor thing that just lasts for 3 days...and if you really want to run it min iLvl, you still can do it later.
If the queues are still as bad when savage comes out, 'til which date do you want it postponed? When they do the server upgrade? 6.1 or maybe even later? And then you won't have enough time to get your BiS for the Ultimate? And if Ultimate also gets postponed because of it, ultimate raiders will be mad.

That's true but that's kinda the nature of the beast. You can replace with a pug that day and move on. You can't seriously expect the raid to be delayed because of the expectation that people may get dc'd at random and hit queue afterwards. They don't delay raids because people potentially disconnect. There's people that disconnect and they never can come back cause net went down in high storm areas during a hurricane and such. No one cares about that and yet those groups will have to replace as necessary if they want to raid. Unless something critical happened just before the week of raid, where massive instability hit the servers, there is almost 0% chance of this happening not to mention they don't want to delay anything else if possible to rehatch literally the same complaints people had when they delayed the expansion. Why would you invite the bad press on purpose?

Also my point of Day 1 Raiding wasn't really refuted. If you choose to raid asap on the first day, you have to expect certain prospects. Moreso if you go into it KNOWING the status and onslaught the login servers are getting right now.

Except you can't because then that member potentially loses loot for the week should you clear. This isn't simply disconnecting but being dumped into a massive queue immediately thereafter. Comparing that to a storm is entirely disingenuous as such an occurrence is entirely isolated to a certain person or region not the whole game.

Yes, there are some hurdles you essentially have to "deal with" potentially for WF or W1 prog. The servers simply crapping themselves shouldn't be among them. If queues remain this bad, delaying the tier definitely has to be considered. Do I think they will? No. The queues should have long settled down by January.

I guess you're one of the people who aren't aware of the 90k error problem (disconnects). When you combine a disconnection with hours long queues, you make it impossible to schedule group activities (raiding). If one person gets a disconnection your raid day is effectively over. Hope this helps.

I was not aware. But it doesn't change my stance on this.

This is based off the assumption that queue times will last well into a January timeframe.

A lot of people run in statics for Savage and Ultimate content for the sake of consistency. Times are pre-determined so that eight people can log and meet.

But if queues could potentially delay that log by several hours - then players will most likely struggle to set a solid schedule.

Of course, statics may only compose a minority of clears and I may be inaccurate in the statement that a fair amount of the raiding player base are going to be adversely effected.

yes. they need to push it to a 2-3 weaks later at last. then see that the normal % of players reach the point they can do Savage to open it. i know it suck for the people that did grind and got there by now but its not really fair to the largest players numbers.

Then they have to delay tomestones and new crafting recipes, and that affects far more players than the handful of world first teams. And what about normal mode? Do they just let everyone farm a full set before savage by releasing it 10 days from now, or does that get delayed too? Honestly I don't see the point. Just release as planned and let the 100-200 world first raiders figure it out.

If people are going to aim to make Day 1 raiding, then they can also make the effort to login earlier for it. Granted logins should get better over time.

no they cant as people got life out the game, you know WORK and shit.

If statics all log in at the same time they should all be in the game around the same time, because they'll be in the same spot in queue.

you can power level him and he do msq later but this problem is real for most players now. not much people can play much at this time of the year and the wait tames don't help.

so why they do it any ways? its ready for a long time so why its not here day 1?
