Yeah but there might be other options they could do with their code, increasing queue speeds, tuning performance so servers run less hot, stability tuning, etc.

This doesn’t account for things like:
— Static members on different servers, which will have different queue lengths due to having different population counts.
— And the fact that other players are also trying to log in on all servers, so they will also be joining the different server queues with said static members.
You know, aside from people that aren’t lucky enough to work from home to try and pre-emptively log in, and work standard 9-to-5 jobs in an office.
But I forgot that people here don’t think about that sort of stuff; nor do they care about the circumstances of others.
No you cannot. You have to complete 6.0 to unlock Pandaemonium. So power leveling will do nothing to help this group.
Unfortunately, that’s an accepted practice here. You should have seen everyone telling the ultimate raiders to “just get over it” when the developers announced they were delaying the second Ultimate we were supposed to get in 5.0.
I’ve raided in this game for a few years now. “Millions” aren’t doing Savage. That’s a disingenuous statement to make.I do week 1 pugging and usually clear the tier within the first 2 weeks in PF alone, assuming enough people make it to the 4th savage by then. So yes, you can grab a pug to replace and go at it or you can delay your raid day and not be "world first". It sucks, but that doesn't mean they should delay it for millions in game because people need to sit through 3-4k queues.
Too bad the raid scene isn’t actually that big. Maybe they’d actually care to listen to us for once.
Because some raid groups that do clear Week 1/Week 2 don’t also work jobs during the day? I’ve worked through quite a few raid tiers (one of which when COVID just hit—Eden’s Verse), and most of the people I have raided with also have jobs that they work during the day—or they go to school full-time. We still managed to make it work, and with the exception of Eden’s Promise, I’ve cleared Week 1/Week 2 each tier last expansion—but we also weren’t dealing with this mess.Your best bet, is literally to raid during off peak, join the game as early as possible or pray the base dies off enough to shorten the queues by then (doubt it).
It’s kind of astounding how out of touch some people are with real life on here.
Personally, as someone who wants to clear Week 1/Week 2, if the queues and lobby errors continue to persist until Savage release, I wouldn’t even be against a small delay (maybe a week or two). It would save the worry of a static member disconnecting in the middle of raid and us having to end for the night. Generally, groups aiming for a Week 1 clear don’t want to be forced to hunt for a random PUG. My group has gotten fairly lucky with getting in—but some still occasionally have 90k errors in the middle of playing, and then are stuck in Queue (Savage) for 2-3 hours.

Delay would be fine for a few weeks IF the delay of those few weeks actually fixed the issue. It most likely wouldn't however.

This was actually one of my concerns for many raiders. There's different raiding types of groups not just World's First.
This also goes for people who wanted to do the extreme trials and cannot at this moment - this is usually the best time for people to test new team members and group cohesion for actual Savage raids. Not having that opportunity hurts groups that are trying to see how well their teams work if they didn't have the opportunity to do older raids prior to launch (without Echo).
I don't think a delay in Savage content is a bad thing. I don't understand the arguments against delaying it ESPECIALLY if you do not even do the content yourselves?

I don’t see how a delay on savage will help no servers for the foreseeable future. The lack of servers is what’s causing the queues.
I also don’t think the new datacenter in waterworld is going to help us all that much with queues in NA. Their peak time is when NA is low population anyway.

I have to laugh at the notion "millions" raid in this game. If only, then maybe we'd finally get a fifth or sixth fight per tier. As for clearing within two weeks. Given information readily available, I have my doubts on the validity of that claim.I do week 1 pugging and usually clear the tier within the first 2 weeks in PF alone, assuming enough people make it to the 4th savage by then. So yes, you can grab a pug to replace and go at it or you can delay your raid day and not be "world first". ... They waited to announce the delay for the whole expansion until two weeks before its official release. With Ultimate, they waited ten days before announcing its delay. The idea they'll give advance notice just doesn't lineup with their track record. In fact, it's the exact opposite. They typically wait until the final hour to announce delays.Also I have yet to see one comment address the fact of how delaying the raid stops the queues from appearing to begin with. Especially with alot of the commmunity likely jumping into raiding too this time around (considering the playerbase boom and WoW Raiders), the odds are that queues will still exist. People need to take a second and meditate on the fact that this is the new norm for the foreseeable future until they upgrade their infrastructure which is likely not happening for quite some time, otherwise they would have done it by now. If they had options on the horizon which would alleviate the queues substantially, I can guarantee they would have announced it by now less than 3 weeks before the raids due release. Delaying is inviting additional scrutiny for ZERO payoff. Your best bet, is literally to raid during off peak, join the game as early as possible or pray the base dies off enough to shorten the queues by then (doubt it).

I would not like delaying everything of patch 6.05 after just having waited 6 months for new content and then another 2 week delay. A part of the fun of major patches for me is joining the rush to craft as much gear as possible and selling them for 1-2 million a piece, and they sell that high primarily because raiders are unable to get superior tome gear as it has a weekly lockout. However, they could just push back savage and nothing else. Delaying savage alone wouldn't affect most people, but then the raid's difficulty level would suffer from raiders having multiple pieces of tome gear before they even enter.I mean, probably.
It's inconvenient, sure, but if they are linked at the hip, I think the dev team will probably prioritize making the savage content a guaranteed good experience over tomestones and gear. Like, this situation isn't magically getting better, so there is a chance they don't delay tomestones at the very least, but I wouldn't be surprised if they chose to do everything they can to make sure statics can play Savage raids without worrying about DCs over crafting armor and tomestones.
It's definitely a conundrum and I'd choose the armor and tomestones over savage personally, but the situation the team is in is kinda unprecedented.
Wasn't there a massive s*** storm just a couple of weeks ago when people found out they took time off from work during the wrong week? I don't know if world first proggers can change their PTO with shorter notice than other people. And if you've wasted the PTO... the inevitable queue is going to feel even worse.

I could see that happening, seems like the only decent compromise in this situation.

ppl dont think beyond the 4 fights. Also, lol at anyone pushing for world first and not logging in right when servers are up. Also, whats the percentage of players that even care about savage? thought it was relatively "low" compared to the casual focused content. We changing our minds now, everyone? Those that dont care about savage wont be logging in right when the servers open up, as well as those who arent pursuing world first clears. Was a huge, genre-wide race announcement put out on some MLG forum that I'm not aware of?
Tank main. Savage and ultimate raider.
UCOB = Cleared
UWU = Cleared
TEA = Cleared
DSU = Lessgo!!!!
xmas + queues = disaster for raiding
