He's a level 90 Paladin and he's complaining he hasn't been playing.

you do know you can get to level 90 on one class through the story yes? and endwalker has been released for early access since the 3rd, if one got on early, skipped not speaking dialogue, or even just played normally they could get there as long as the server doesnt boot them once they are on (as has happened to me a few times, like right now, 90002 error, then 2002 when reconnecting, but keep white knighting the company that isnt giving what they offered (early access when you dont have the ability to log in when you want, or have to wait hours, isnt early access, plus, all those that didnt have early access, it hindered their ability to play as well, correct?)

Yeah I'm a level 90 I know and I've been playing everyday for long hours. Unless you skip cuts you're going to need to be putting in long hours playing the game to get to 90. Asking for a month free playtime when you've been on for an awful lot of time is a bit over the top. Doesn't surprise me though from some regulars on this forum.

Not blaming those who haven't' been able to play. I understand the issue I am in a 5000 queue on Balmung at the moment and the queue is slow and I've been in many queues during prime time this past week. For those who can only play in prime time I feel for them.

Don't think they were white knighting looks to me like they made an observation. Truth be told he is level 90 and is asking for 1 month free time. For all we actually know the OP may have played 16 hours a day every day since the expansion launched. I think they were just calling out the BS in the OPs post.

Also not one cares if you got your early access not even SE. You did not pay anything additional for the early access so I am not understanding why people want to continue to bring this up as if they were robbed them of early access. The situation sucks time to get over it.

If you read SEs statement they will give us 1 week and depending on the situation that may increase. We will have to wait and see what improvements can be made.

yeah its kind of annoying, theres been a few times where ive hopped off willingly due to friends wanting to play other games even though i was on trying to get through msq during the start of early access, but it is what it is, im only on the lvl 85 quests atm, due to that, plus the queue times, and real life stuff

reason why its being brought up is, like layla was calling out the "bs" on the OP, people have to call out BS on the companies, its our job as consumers, if we dont, if we just sit back and shell money out without a second thought, service will never improve, they will think everything is running smooth and the player base is happy, correct? and if early access is meaningless, why allow pre-purchase to give early access? hmm? could it be a selling point for supporting the company and the game maybe? so said money can go towards improving the stability and capacity of said game? this is generally supposed to be the case, company gets more money for a launch, % of the proceeds/profits go for game improvements, the rest go for employees/stays with the company to keep them in the green

Square Enix just admit the servers are screwed or the client side functionality is trash but this 2002 stuff is not acceptable in 2021 and YOU CANNOT BLAME this on a chip shortage.

No other MMO developer on the planet has these type of disconnects while waiting in the queue and lets not pretend Classic WoW did not launch just 3 years ago or New World less than a few months ago.

We have recent example of this not happening with other game developers and they did not blame the chip shortage. Queues are whatever but disconnecting people for a 2002 error than resetting their queue position is a serious issue.

FF14 Devs already made and been making announcements over the server issues since what 9 months ago or something like that. Also, they already touched based on why they didnt move FF14 over to Cloud servers. One last thing New World servers are garbage lol along with its coding

For the errors this might take a bit more time for them to find out however resolve them since on their current testing they thought they fixed it but clearly not

If you really want to blame any one blame consumerism as a whole. SE actually did not spend nearly as much advertising this expansion that others in the past. The game population doubled (almost tripled) a few months after the expansion was announced and these were not small numbers we are talking about. This was about 10 million subscribers to almost 30 million. This was mostly due to twitch / youtube streamers. See the video game industry as of late (maybe 10 years) has followed hype trains caused by streamers which has cause consumers to end up getting burned. You can notice this based off the popular type of game that is being released in droves. 10 years ago it was survival games, the past 5 or so years now is has been battle royale games. Even SE has jumped on this hype train with there stupid looking mobile game. Problem is most consumers at least in the video game industry consume based off hype and not off of self interest and the industry knows this as well.

Due to this type train coming to FFXIV the subscription and player base almost tripled with in a quarter which happened to be the quarter before the expansions release. This is unfortunate as SE has to make a decision to disappoint the consumer or disappoint the share holder. Disappointing the shareholders in this case would in turn also disappoint the consumer as this would mean to delay the expansion potentially 2 quarters to obtain the servers needed (Potentially 2 quarters based off the recent update regarding this). Launching the game as is will have issues disappoint the consumers but the share holders are going to see profits. Any large company is going to disappoint the consumer before disappointing the share holders as they matter more to there financial future.

Truth be told they have been fairly transparent in most of this process. Is it possible something could have been done sooner to prevent this? Absolutely but I think people need to also look at the broad picture and accept a little bit of reality.

Even a week is more than due compensation for some. Some peeps have finished the MSQ, have at least one job at 90 as a result, and are participating in cap level content while others haven't even been able to get SGE or RPR to 80 despite trying to log in daily. For some, this has just been a minor inconvenience. For others, it has been just a nightmare of a launch since the announcement of the delay back in November at every turn.

I'm going to toss in my wager that the eventual conclusion will be 10 days of free playtime, though the additional days will be tacked on later after all the locusts have consumed their fill and fled [wishful thinking].
