The people who are stuck on login queues, the people who are still doing work and can't play due to scheduling issues, the people who are currently playing another game for other reasons, the people who are still going through Shadowbringers and previous expansions --- those are the people who will end up doing the content with you if you wait a bit. Honestly, I'm not in any rush to complete Endwalker. I'm honestly enjoying it at the pace I'm going at, and I'm not very far in.

It's expected that a new expansion is going to have a rush of people trying it out. It's not as if the new experience is going to disappear if you wait a week or a month though. There's plenty of people who are still coming to FFXIV and going to try it. The next patch isn't until for a very VERY long time, and by then, the queue issue should be settled down. Your experience with the content isn't going to change much if any.
As I see it, the problem is not buying a game and not being able to play it when you want to. You buy a game, you don't have to rush it right after the purchase, you can play it later (there's a thing called backlog). The problem is paying a subscription and not being able to play. I finished MSQ, but I feel for the people who really want to play but can't and they're paying for it.
