What type of compensation would quite your rage?

I posted what I feel would calm me down already. I don't mind waiting two hours for queue. I mind being kicked at login and being unable to queue again for another four or five hours. It's been a colossal waste of my time, a lowering of expectations and really just a pretty bad time. The hype was huge, this game has been heavily marketed and they sold copies of it without a cap, knowing they couldn't handle the server loads. I have very little faith in square at this point, and even the whole mmo scene. Mistakes all around. My mistake was pre-ordering and expecting a product delivered on time. "It's only been a week" is still an entire week where I've wasted hours of my day only to be repeatedly booted out of the queues or kicked or been un able to join. It's not a matter of refunding just the value of my sub, but the value of the experience. Frankly, as much as this community likes to talk about how the company values the players I don't see it. Every experience with their customer service I have ever had has been an epic disappointment. It started with me being unable to even buy the game from the store in the first place. What kind of company gives you trouble at the purchasing counter? It's just.. rife with technical issues and the fanbase is loud, fanatical and crazy. This product is a hot mess.

Rage is overselling it. I'm mildly disappointed I need to babysit my queue, but circumstances make the queue itself understandable.

It's not better, it's just different.

it's more passive aggressive, because open hostility is looked down upon. And passive aggressiveness is arguably worse. I'd rather have some asshat complaining loudly than purposefully screwing up my run over and over again because someone isn't playing the way they want them to or can't take criticism, or told what to do that contradicts what they're currently doing.

This game does suck. It has had server and ping issues since its 1.0 alpha. We have progressively lost dungeon content as more expansions have released for more casual content which most is very mediocre at it's best. Tanks and healers have become extremely homogenized and the classes are really more like roles than classes. Some classes have been needed a rework for a while and some have been reworked into something worst than it was before. And we are currently dealing with the worst launch since 2.0.

The community is full of weirdos that worship yoshi as if he were jesus for taking a bad game and making it decent. They are often more concerned about new glamour and hairstyles rather than issues with the game that should have been fixed a long time ago. They are also fine with loosing content in place of other content. And it's the only game community that is accepting and actively defends a cash shop.

That being said time for my compensation. A lot of this whining is coming players that just recently came over because their favorite streamers decided to play the game. And sadly video game hype is synonymous with streamer hype today as most people can't think for themselves in our new internet culture. Your lack of thinking for yourself and following the crowd/hype has impacted my experience as the game has almost tripled its sub count with in one year. Which this number is not a small number we are talking 10 million subs to almost 30 million subs. There are going to be issues unfortunately and I am dealing with them just as everyone else is.

As far as the complaints go about advertisement on a game that is going to have launch issues. This expansion has actually been advertised the least of all the expansions I have seen released so far. I remember Stormblood was heavily advertise to where I would get a Stormblood cup with my Big Mac for no additional fee. Most of the advertisement has come from stream hype as honestly I don't think I have personally seen an add for Endwalker yet.

Could SE have avoided these issues? Absolutely but they did not react quick enough to do so. I think SE should actually suspend sales on the base game until the issue has been resolved as there are people that have bought the game and expansions and are unable to even create a character.

I still play it though and actually think it is the best MMO on the market currently.
With that off my chest I feel I have compensated myself for my rage as well.

Edit: On that note I am not understanding why a player that is still level 50 and joined the game in 2013 is complaining. You obviously are not even playing the game currently so why are you flooding the forums with complaints about a launch you are probably not even participating in?

I remember when Stormblood came out. It was way worse than this.

I don´t want compensation I want to consume the service I paid for. If I can´t, I don´t pay for it anymore, simple as that. And regarding community, the fact that people are angry and rightfully so, has nothing to do with the awesomeness of it during gameplay. It does not have always to be sunshine and roses, people have a valid point, Square Enix fucked it up and people are telling that to them. Credit where credit is due I would say.

I like this take, although I can't comment on the comparisons of other expansions. I do think the only reason they defend a cash shop is because it isn't pay to play; most of the things you can buy don't give you a real world advantage against other players, which makes it easy to digest as mostly it's cosmetic things. The fanboy community is weird and freaky as shit though, and I am genuinely disturbed by the fanaticism. If this is the best MMO, it's a poor example of the genre and I won't be trying out another.
