why they decide to give their new races such limited hairstyles is still questionable. no they shouldnt have two catalogues worth, but at least more variety -
rather than
option 1: shag mullet with side swoop.
2: shag mullet with no side swoop.
3: short messy hair.
4: short mess hair with a feather.
i see the same few male viera types- pasty skin black or white hair or black hair with white or red streaks. it doesn't really vary much mucch like au'ra or miqo - most are pasty skin with white/black hair. once in a while youll see a unique one with blue skin or something but far few in between. even if there was a more extensive character creator (like blade and soul or saints row CC) i still think people would lean towards pale skin, white or black hair or black hair with colored streaks. im not hating on these options, just pointing it out.

They were never going to meet everyone's expectations, but a lot of people seem perfectly happy with them.

So they'll fit right in with everyone else is what you're saying? Like you said pale skin with white hair is by far the most popular combination across all races.

I also really enjoy characters with an unusual look like blue skin, but it really limits options in terms what colour hair/face paint/dye looks good with the skin colour so I never do it for my own character.

I know this is likely due to a technical limitation, but after seeing the semi lop-eared option, a fully lop-eared option would look so adorable.

LoL don't assume I was one of the people asking for Viera, even the female ones, the races I want haven't been popularly requested to the best of my knowledge.

A big robot race about the size of Hrothgar or Roe and a soul looking race that is all glowy like a ghost that is the size of lalafell or Mi'quote has been my hopes.

Though I will say I was happy to see lalafell when I 1st played ARR and pleasantly joyfully excited to see Hrothgar in SHB but disappointed with the head gear thing, if it was up to me the bunny men on the moon would have been male Viera, cause it would give us another small option to choose besides lala.

Whoever was asking for them in the first place. I'm not going to sift thru the entire list. I also know that there's people like me that didn't ask for it but am glad the devs listened to the majority. It inspires confidence from me that they listen.

I do know that people have been widely complaining about them in one way or another since the benchmark was released. People are still complaining in one way or another. Enough people were complaining about the lack of them so "y'all" is a blanketed term not applied to everyone who isn't actually affected or offended.

But this is the XIV forums, you can throw a stone and guaranteed it'll piss someone or several people off.

As a male viera I think we are very detailed and look fantastic. We are also designed better than the female viera and utilize way more hairstyles, especially the purchasable ones from Mogstation.

I seen it and since you were talking to me I figured u meant me when you said you, however I totally agree with your statement on peeps getting offended over everything on here, your preaching to choir here friend, I feel the same way u do but some good news is the majority of people I see in game act way different then the forum peeps do, however I've seen some cool forum peeps before like, It's Me and Theodoric, those dudes posts I've seen consistently and i agree alot with them.

Hmm … I didn’t think I would like male viera as much before they were added. I honestly thought they would be overly angry, scruffy looking dudes which isn’t my type of male character to play. But we ended up getting a nice variety and was shocked when I saw the pretty boy / androgynous faces (I like what I like leave me alone lol) . The faces are spot on to the type of faces I wish I could have on male miqo’te and I still like miqo’te a lot actually. Only time will tell how long I will stay as one and so far it’s been a lot longer then when I tried female viera.
