male Viera feels like they took female Viera and just slapped on a few faces/hairstyles.

Ngl, there were a bunch of times I saw a Viera from the back and I thought it was female only to realize it was a male after turning the camera. Depending on the outfit and the customization not even then, lol.

I don't think they look too bad, some of their animations look pretty neat but I don't think I could ever see myself playing one.

They're the most beautiful characters in the game, even more beautiful than the Viera females. I'm not sure it's possible to get more bishounen than them, honestly.

This, Female Viera face I always feel something not quite right,
but Male Viera, SE just create the perfect Viera race with this

It still catches me off guard whenever I see them in public. Despite me having several of them myself. Even more surprising is browsing these forums and seeing them as avatars until I remember what they are.

I absolutely love my male viera, and I like how they look somewhat androgynous. They have a good bishounen look. Like some others in this thread, sometimes I'll mistake one for a female at a glance lol There are some masculine options though, so it works out in the end. I always knew head gear and hair was going to be an issue for them, so I'm not surprised or disappointed. That being said, I do hope they can expand on the hairstyles in the future, as well as add more hats of course. I'm just extremely happy male viera are in the game now. The first thing I did when the expansion hit was fantasia even though I knew the queue was going to be super long.

If there's one critique I have, it's with how the introduction of male viera NPCs were handled. I didn't expect a big reveal or anything, but up until this point, male viera were never seen before. It would have been nice to have a brief reaction or comment in passing about this. I was pretty surprised to see how male viera were a common sight (as NPCs) as well. I like to chalk it up to the graphics team being proud of the male viera model and wanting to show it off instead of keeping them hidden. Anyway, this is just a minor critique, and it doesn't matter all that much to me. The most important thing to me is that male viera are here now. Overall, I am extremely happy and satisfied!

I respect Yoshi P and the team for good giving me the greatest video game I ever played in my 35 years of gaming but male Viera feels like they took female Viera and just slapped on a few faces/hairstyles.

I feel the male Viera is the first male toon in almost any video game that doesn't look absurd to me.

Most male toons in video games are absurdly comical in being over bulky to the extreme. If you 'went just as far' on a female toon for female attributes, you'd end up with a toon as 'thicc' as Texas with a bosom that was Triple-Z and yet still defied gravity. She's probably be about 103% legs, and have anime eyes bigger than the moon.
- Make that though, and people would laugh you off the internet.

Yet that's basically most male toons in video games - silly big muscles that would make Arnold Schwarzenegger look wimpy, a "codpiece" to make Caligula blush, giant hands, and a head smaller than an ant.

The male Viera by contrast has solid good body proportions for an athletic male in his 20s. It looks amazingly good to my eyes.

It only looks weird to people who are used to looking at absurd male toons and lack a mirror.

This is frankly the first time I've ever been tempted to make a male character in any game where they didn't force it.

no lie I saw some vieras around and I wasnt sure if they were male or female until I checked the posture closely

LoL same here, I got fooled into thinking one was an actual female Viera when I was standing in Limsa cause they had that maid outfit on and the features looked totally like the cat girls/ Viera girls but then I seen the stance and laughed and thought dang trap character, lol I'm now way more cautious about looking at the bunny females lol

This might explain why I've been saying I've only seen like two male viera since I started EA. But now I'm thinking I may have seen way more, because what I thought were females could have actually been males.
