Now is absolutely nothing at all like the 1.0 situation. The only problem right now is a demand far exceeding the server capacity. 1.0 had myriad problems, but I don't recall demand far exceeding server capacity being one of them.Ok, see "THIS" is 100% true and more makes sense.
But the only thing I can say to the above is "FFXIV 1.0".
I played that and I cancelled my subscription after a couple months. A lot of us did, and no matter what the EULA said, it was a sad game and very irritating.
This expansion is walking the same line and it all comes down to investors and financials. Those guys don't like negative press that might effect stock prices.
You may not agree with me, but if FFXIV 1.0 wasn't so bad why did they have to scrap it and relaunch it? There's a documentary on Youtube about how bad it really was behind the scenes, and it feels a lot like now.![]()
No one should have to wait 4-5 hours to see if they are even going to get to play a game they paid for before they have to go to bed for the night
I wasn't going to respond to anything else from you, but I have to for this last point.
If you played 1.0 you remember how bad that game was.
No matter how many issues there were, being dropped while playing was one of them. I know, I have screenshots I saved from years again where the server up and dropped me for no reason. So server stability "WAS" one of the issues from back then, that they needed to address, but instead we were being pacified with free time and other trinkets.
"AND" like now, there were those who defended that games issues all the way up until the shut off the servers.
So "WHY" did they kill a working game and rebuild it from the ground up of there were some saying it was ok, and that the whiners were make a big deal out of nothing? Because those whiners stopped paying for a game and FFXIV 1.0 started losing a lot of money.
So, if enough people call it quits again, I bet they figure out a way to get this queueing issue fixed yesterday.
Just saying..................![]()

I concede that given the 1.0 launch was something like 12 years ago I may have forgotten server stability/queueing issues were a problem amongst the many other problems that make it a completely different situation to this one. But, "being dropped while playing" is not an issue right now. I've played many hours and have had zero disconnects once through the queue and in the game.
If you were whining that they were doing nothing to resolve the problems in 1.0, then it turns out you were obviously wrong, because they did do something about it. Just like they're trying to resolve the current issues (see the emergency maintenance this morning and the coming server maintenance). When I played 1.0 and I didn't like it, I stopped playing. I didn't come back for the legacy campaign. I didn't like it at all, so I didn't play it. But I didn't go and angrily post about it. They made a game that wasn't fun, but they didn't intentionally make a game that wasn't fun just to antagonize you.
No one is saying that there aren't issues - they're saying SE is already doing everything they can reasonably be expected to do given the reality of the situation. If the only solution that makes you happy is "no more queue times", you're simply going to have to wait. There's a myriad of other games out there, play them in the meantime, or play them going forward if you like. Complaining here gains you nothing - they are already doing what they can to resolve the issue.
Oh yeah, and re the additional game time, I am pleased to let you know despite my lack of experience working for a Fortune 500 company, I am correct about how they're doing it.
From Mogstation, please note there are 37 days between 12/4 and 1/10:

Your not understanding how adding 7 days of time isn't giving free time lol.I concede that given the 1.0 launch was something like 12 years ago I may have forgotten server stability/queueing issues were a problem amongst the many other problems that make it a completely different situation to this one. Free time added would be on top of what we already paid for to PLAY the game. Not reimbursed time for not being able to play during that 30 day window.
The apple analogy is confusing. Just compare whats actually in front of you.
IE
I pay for 30 days.
I pay to play for 30 consecutive days.
I get to play for 23 days.
SE gives 7 days. (calls it free time)
I get 30 days to play again.
If i we were given 7 free days.
It would be 30 + 7 days of PLAY time.
I would suggest that the time only starts for when we actually are able to play it. By SE's words its going to be Months! That is quite a bit of time to wait around paying for a sub and already paid for content that we cannot explore.
My post does not contain the word free. I don't care if you consider it free or not. It is 7 days compensation that you aren't paying any additional fee for because you may not be able to play now. You people just want to piss and moan.Your not understanding how adding 7 days of time isn't giving free time lol.

Piss and moan? So what your saying is we all should bootlick like you?
Im sorry but honestly. Defending content that is absent from being able to play reasonably without having to adjust sleep schedules or work schedules to enjoy is unacceptable.
7 days compensation isnt being added whether its free or reimbursed. Its not adding 7 additional days that are playable. Quite simple
You're right, Yoshi-P gets off on your rage. He's lying to you. He's doing this just because it tickles him. He was all "you know what will really piss off these midwits? We'll call it "free!"." He then burst into a fit of laughter which goes on unto this very minute.Piss and moan? So what your saying is we all should bootlick like you?

So You pay for 30 apples. You are supposed to get 1 apple a day for 30 days.
Normally you get handed an an apple. But because so many other people want those apples, you have to travel 2 hours away to pick that apple up. But when you get said apple seller says "Sorry i already sent all the apples back to where you were previously".
Now you have to travel back to get said apple but you get there and the apple is once again gone and you have to travel 2 hours to get said apple. No apple for that day even though you already paid for it
Meanwhile you will Have to work to pay for the things you need. Which means you only have a certain time to get that apple because if you stay out later to travel to get the apple it is now effecting your life in a negative way even though its something you used to enjoy.
But the apple seller tells you "Hey, I tell you what. Even though you have to deal with this every day until everyone gets sick of apples. I will add those apples a day free of charge, because im a stand up guy."
But no compensation for all the traveling you had to endure to "try" to get your apples.

Well if I did that then every apple company will start selling apples the same way and no one will get apples like they should.
Sounds like you used to like oranges but the company died and now your in apple territory running your mouth.
:Edit: Or it could be that you have been eating the apples so long that you dont care if they are are selling you rotten apples because your life has no meaning and all you have are the apples.
