Read me if you're frustrated about 2002 and 90002

[U]2002 in the queue is caused by unstable internet. I have experience having used two distinctly different internets trying to log in the past week, and I can tell you that having better internet definitely helps, since any loss in packets is a lot more likely to cause you to drop considering the sheer volume of people trying to get in. Switch from wifi to ethernet if possible, lower the distance between the router and your computer... whatever you can do. From my experience a ~30 Mbps UL/DL speed is rife with 2002s, while >100 should be more or less safe.

It's not caused by unstable internet, it's caused by unstable communication. The instability can happen anywhere along the path from client to server, and given how hard the FFXIV systems are getting hit right now, it's not unreasonable to point the finger at that end - meaning that some portion of the 2002s are out of the control of the user.

Yes, it won't last forever, and yes, the situation was probably unavoidable. But it's also reasonable to press for the FFXIV dev team to examine these failures and make improvements directly. Waiting in queue for 5 hours is fine; waiting in queue for 5 hours only to be disconnected and sent back to the end of the line is not. This is where they should focus their efforts first, and acknowledging publicly that they are doing so would strengthen the relationship far more than simply acknowledging the problem.

The servers are being overloaded by thousands of people, and people with better internet are winning out over those with spotty internet.

That's about it.

I mean tell me what internet speed/connection you have cause I 80MegaBytes down not 80Mb and 15MB up which is way more than is needed for most normal households. HARDWIRED as well. And on top of that I PAID for 3 different visits (I requested 3 different techs). To verify my service and line were not the issue. I even bought a 2nd modem/router to put people like you defending SE that is on the client side.

I've been stuck at 1,166 for an hour now in the Q. I can handle 2002 errors and regain my place. Right now the Q is plainly not moving at all. It's been spitting the "World is full" errors before this. Which.... isn't really an error. It's just full.

it's what happened when queue system is broken and the SE side is giving you "just dont use wifi... it can possible help" and leave it.

People who are in the game trying to keep their session so they can play the actual game not the 2002 code.

And people are not in the game trying to queue up for those few spots stuck and then making the server even more loads.

I guess SE side is probably still thinking it's the "extreme" case and expecting it will go away in a week or two. lol

The only errors that I receive are 2002 errors so I can only speak to those. I cannot accept the reasons offered ]by you and Yoshi-P as being valid. According to you and Yoshi-P if I am hard wired from my Modem to my PC I should reduce the number 2002 drops that I experience. Not true. I am retired and spend a great deal of time on my PC I use a broadband connection that is hard wired (Ethernet Cable)from my modem to my PC. My PC, Modem ad Router are side by side. I did a speed test on my connection and my DL speed is 711.1 mbps and my UL speed is 24.6 mbps. My latency is 20ms. According to your data I should not experience the constant 2002 drops that I do. Please understand that no ISP if perfect. you will experience packet drops with the best of systems. My experience is that during peaks hours the log-in servers are glitching with the constant request for entry and just resetting and arbitrarily booting people without rhyme or reason. This is the problem need to address. Once you are in the que then you should not be affected additional entry requests. Having said all of that please understand that these are my observations with my system.

Yea, I'm sure i'm getting a 2002 from SE side of the house. Everything is going fine in the middle of a queue then BOOM, 2002 disconnect. Run speed test and packet loss and everything is fine but get 2002 multiple times for I'm actual able to just back at the end of the line in the queue.

I under stand there will be queue times and I normally get in in the morning and play all day doing roulettes and dailies while my wife works. but she can't get logged in when she gets home to do the msq with me. So I feel you alls pain.

I'm going to have 90's before we can get the story done. I'll start trying to get her in a few hours before she gets home and I keep getting kicked and moved to the back of the line. Its sucks but it will calm down sooner or later and we will be able to quest together. Hang in there it can only get better.

This is not the worst yet.. I'm afraid it will crest at Xmas day then probably start to get better in Jan. Again the issue is not able to stay in line while waiting in que.

90002 happens if your Internet connection is a bit uncooperative. I got it even during pre-EW, when my Internet decided to become super bad.


90002 still possibly remember your spot in the game, especially during running dungeons/raids, so better to get back as fast as possible. Sometimes, it forgets. Tough Luck, I guess.
