See my post right above this one. This is not hard to understand. It is honestly...
If you pay 15 for 1 month of game time. You already paid for.
The company has an issue that prevents play on the 30 days you already paid for and gives you 7 days on top of the 30 days.
Of those extra days you continually are not able to play the game.
It is not free time.
You are still not able to play the game wasting the 7 FREE days they gave us.
Ultimately, It should be time paid for returned until its fixed and 7 days on top of that.
I have gotten on every day. Played for 8 this or more hours. Free week it is. Extended as compensation vs free week is silly ass semantics and op is being a man child with compensation issues of his own.
I prepaid for 7 apples that I knew everyone else wanted and I knew there would be limited supply and the store would be packed and it could be hard to get in. The store warned me about that. Had signs posted. So I went to the store early when I knew it would not be so busy. I got my apples. Then on top of that I was given 7 apples because another group of people complained about a problem I was smart enough to avoid. That's great service right there.
In real life I just avoid the store if I know its busy. I also only shop and go out when I know it won't be crowded. There is this restaurant in town. Super popular. If you go on a weekend there will be a line(queue). People leave all the time. At times people get told they won't be able to be seated before closing. None of them are just given free meals or compensation coupons. You can probably guess where I don't go and when. Wether I paid or not time is money and I am not wasting either on something negative I can avoid. In the case of the restaurant or this game I will go when it is intelligent and is not going to cause me stress.
You also won't find me complaining about semantics over compensation/free time and making myself look like a crappy human who makes poor decisions. Lift yourself up, be a better person, if your only game time is during high queues then take that time and do something productive instead. Go volunteer, clean your community, get some exercise, do a kind deed, wasting it staring at a queue then complaining about the verbiage used for compensation is poor form.

Noone really cares if you are not having issue. Many are. You are like one of them middle class people telling the poor to work harder because I earned everything I got.
7 extra days of waiting hours in a queue that we got to babysit is not wanted or needed by many of us. So maybe you need to be a little more understanding kiddo.

The Apartment or Commercial Highrise is a better analogy for SquareEnix selling subscriptions for access to FFXIV Server & Worlds.
SquareEnix sells customers subscriptions, takes their money in exchange for providing access to the property and its amenities, their obligation is to provide enough space for you because you paid for it. It would suck if they sold more rooms or space than they really had available...
But they don't have enough room for customers in the building even though they sold the service to you and took your rent money.
But you're not.I agree you are getting what you paid for. Whether or not you want to think of it as "free" is up to you, the point is you're getting time added to your subscription and you aren't paying anything extra for it. It is compensation for lost time on the subscription you paid for. They don't have to give it to you, but they are. Now, if they didn't, I think people would be right to be upset about that.
The metaphor breaks down when you get to this major inconvenience. Yes, if I take a week off work to go on vacation I probably can't just easily change the time off to another week. This is pretty different. You probably didn't take a week off work. I took 2 days off work, and as a result, both Friday and today I was able to play all day with no issues (Saturday and Sunday too.. minus the fact that I had to break in the middle of the day sunday and had a 2 hour queue that evening when I came back, but that had nothing to do with taking off work). If you took off work, you should have had no issues at all getting logged in, unless you were unwilling to wake up at a moderately early time... and I'm not talking 5 AM, I'm talking 10 AM. In what way was anyone MAJORLY inconvenienced?
You're explaining this like everyone is getting a free week EXTRA week, but they aren't
Let me try again, and if you don't understand, then you don't understand.
- You pay to get 1 apple a day for Four weeks
- But on the first week they missed giving you an apple
- Now on weeks 2, 3, 4 you receive an apple
- But the vendor said during week 1 "to make up for the apple you missed, I'll give you a free apple after week 4"
- At the end of 5 weeks how many apples do you have? If you followed the math you only have "FOUR" apples, correct?
So you originally paid for Four, you received, four, but you had to wait an extra week to get the apple you missed. So exactly how is this getting anything extra? Extra would be "FIVE" apples (The one you missed + the EXTRA the vendor said you would receive for the inconvenience)
To be honest if you still don't understand either you're doing this on purpose or willfully ignoring basic economics.
Also you're saying you had no issues getting on, but when Dev's make a post about this, then it's a "MAJOR" issue.
I mean the issues with the massive queues, disconnection, and over all inaccessibility of the game is on the launch page for God's sake.
Seriously???
Just because you aren't having an issue doesn't mean the rest of us are as lucky.
Here it's just now 7pm and I've been trying access this game since 4pm EST with queues over 5,000 and I stopped counting my disconnections from the login server after 20.
So I find it hard to believe that you are so fortunate you can log on when ever you like with the lightest of queues since launch.
Again, having worked for a fortune 500 company for over 25 years this isn't going to happen. The accountants won't allow them to suddenly start messing up when they deduct payments just for free time.
Imagine you are normally charged on the 1st of the month. You will be charged 7 days later, on the 8th.
I get being unhappy about it. The "free"-ness of the added time is largely semantics. But adding additional time at no additional charge is adequate in the event that they are unable to alleviate the issue via server upgrades, which is unfortunately the case.
The easiest would be to offer a "discount" or a free month, that way the accounts know when to take out. Accountants are strange that way, they hate uncertainties.
Second, they never said "how" they were going to do this, just that it would be 7 free days. That could mean anything without their explanation.
Personally I think this is vague on purpose......![]()
Don't waste your time!

It is pretty simple. If you are managing to play, you are getting 7 free days and you are happy.
If you are not - say you can only play after work, and you try over and over again to queue to the game but aways get the 2002 error midway, so it is not a matter of waiting in line. You actually cannot play at all - that is another story.
You payed to play for 30 days. In nowhere it is said you can only use these days out of peak time. But during 7 of these 30 days, SE did not provide the service you paid for. So you paid for 30 days of service and got 23. SE doesn't have to give your money back, because it is smart and put that in the EULA. But it doesn't want you to stop paying for it every month. So it will gice you 7 extra days. You paid for 30 days and will get 30 days with a 7 days iatus. The first group got 7 free days though

Okay, I want to cancel my Endwalker pre-order because of this issue but can't be I unlocked the pre-trial key months ago when a Oceanic Server was still planned to get added.
