I assume they're not going to also increase retainer subscription time (they don't normally when they give out free time), so anyone with a retainer, watch out for that when you suddenly can't access it, even though you have a subscription. You'll have to go to the mogstation and renew it for 7 days at that point.

Queues at launch for new content will always be the norm.

But if you don't want to click the link, ill sum it up for you. More than half New Worlds total servers barely have enough active players to fill a single Company.
And it sucks. I know this because the world my character is on has 84 active players...

But to be thorough, I'll explain one other thing to you.
For new Servers to have ANY effect whatsoever on the Queues, people need to willingly transfer themselves off their overpopulated server and onto this new one.
Reminder, this is an Expansion launch. The people in the queue with you are NOT composed of brand new players just now starting their adventures. It is primarily formed of returning players. Those who existed on that server on break until new content happened.

Since the servers saw unprecedented growth *prior* to any new content releasing, completely bucking a decades long trend mere months ago, Even if SQenix doubled the number of available servers the instant they saw the influx, you would STILL be facing massive queues due to the existing playerbase on hiatus between content drops returning in force.

My server is a Legacy one. Hyperion. The highest queue i faced was right when the servers opened, a grand total of 2700. Cleared after 1 instance of E2002 in just 30 minutes.

If you don't like queues, transfer to an existing lower pop server. No one is stopping you but you.

My god... these forums the past three days has been truly a trash bin.

First of all, if you're that upset and can't access the game whatsoever, it is best to either step away and do something else with your time or quit and come back later. Patience is key with the long queues and as people have stated time and time again, over and over; the devs had warned us ahead of time that we might experience extended queues or crashes due to the surge of players they had received. Yes, they should have gotten more servers ahead of time prior to the pandemic during SB to alleviate the potential problem they could have, but again no one can see into the future. WoW imploding on itself wasn't something they could foresee, and it isn't the dev team's fault that until just recently their funding hadn't been the best due to SquareEnix prioritizing other products. Now, you are justified in being angry. This is a product you have paid for, and as a customer you are valid to complain, but seriously? Twenty different threads of the same complaint and insulting the people who are trying to tell you to calm down and be patient since the game isn't going anywhere and to act like grown adults isn't unreasonable.

Complaining also about the company giving you seven days added onto your ongoing subscription is also ridiculous. You paid for 30 days, they gave you an extra 7 days on top of that 30 when you guys were screaming for compensation that they didn't have to give. Now that they are saying that they're going to give it as well as the potential for more free game time that is free because you aren't going to be charged for it, you are claiming that it isn't free? I just can't comprehend that people don't know basic math or reasoning. You all are adults, act like responsible adults rather than toddlers throwing tantrums. You can complain; but within reason.

Have you ever actually transferred servers? To do so, you have to actually be able to log in, take down all kinds of stuff your retainers are selling, etc. Also, if you have a house, you can kiss that goodbye if you transfer, which (if you have a large or medium) you may never see again. So for the folks who are on worlds where it’s literally queues of 9,000+ unless we try to log in at like 2:00 am (which isn’t really possible for many of us who actually have lives and jobs), yes, someone actually is stopping us from transferring, both literally (as a result of the constant queue kicking due to 2002, 4004 and other errors) and in terms of a huge disincentive as we’d lose many of the things currently tied to our characters (housing, FC, friends, etc., especially if we change to a different server).

I don’t understand why people like you are standing up for SE and trying to pretend that this situation is acceptable. They waited until it was way too late to do anything about their crappy servers and now it’s too late to do anything about it because of the limited supply in COVID times.

I can write ”WILL NEED TO COLLECT YOUR FIRST BORN” in a ToS, it doesn’t automatically make it enforcable or valid.
Contracts are tested in a court and before that happened any contract is just a wall of text… And to add to that a contract need to be signed, an ”accept button” is not legally binding.
