I am a bit of a minor/amateur scholar of Square-Enix as a business with quite a bit of knowledge about who works there, what the company's inner workings are like, etc.
I am a big fan of the work Square-Enix and Squaresoft (formerly) have done.
I think it's of crucial importance to criticize them when you think they are wrong.
A Realm Reborn was a reaction to such criticism.
Never withhold a complaint if you truly care about something.
The majority of complaints I've seen have come from 6+ year vets. It's the "wow fanbois" I've seen not making a fuss cuz we have dealt with these issues before when the game was really popular and understand the limitations of the internet. It's almost like the ff14 vets don't know how to handle successI love how all these new people who have come into FFXIV wanting to play it, IMMEDIATELY dump on a company they really don't even know. All I see is a bunch of Karens getting pissy because oh, hey, a queue time. I get it. EU servers should have been upgraded. I feel for EU. But the way you guys are screaming "Waaah, I want a refund and compensation." This is why companies don't give a crap anymore.
This is completely asinine. Has anyone even stopped to consider how the company feels? trying to deliver a fantastic game/product to all these ungrateful children screaming and crying. I get it, WoW died. Sorry, no one foresaw that coming, especially so soon before the Endwalker drop.
You all need to grow up, and realize crap happens. And maybe try to I don't be considerate. But that's asking too much for all the influx of new people coming in. Already guard up, ready to strike with "lawsuits" and ready to bite anyone's head off just for defending a game and a company, people like me and idk 4M other players that have been playing consistently for years since 2013, hell even 2011 when 1.0 dropped.
You guys had your time on WoW, I even played with friends here and there. But trashing another game, making it look like utter garbage just to make a point of you guys wanting a fight for no reason. The customer isn't always right, I learned that working as a chef for years, and even retail.
And to be honest, you guys are even lucky you got compensation at all. Other game companies wouldn't have done that.

Calling them out for a queue system that is not very friendly, and getting dced in the game god forbid something happens and not having a buffer to let you back in. Is now being a Karen.

Most forum posters I see have history and seem to have been playing for a while. And even if you’re a new player, it doesn’t mean you don’t know Square Enix, their games and usual practices.
Just a white knight assuming stuff to make a thread in a middle of threads filled with frustration which honestly with the current situation is only understandable.
Let’s be real, the servers issues could have been partially taken care of way before the coof. As an example, JP has 3 data centers. EU has 2. It’s little things like that, which make you question why. 100% it has to do with the suits and not the actual devs, because it’s very often how it goes but it still reflects a bad management image.

Well iam on EU datacenters i had queues, too.
Many people here say Quote "absolutely umacceptable", "mess of a launch"
It is simply not true.
I played on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and no iam not a big Streamer or something.
To have a 8k+ queue is bad i know that first hand i had it, too but that aside the Server was stable i had no lags at all ingame.
I do not know what you guys are doing but iam no different to you guys and i played a lot even with queues.

Back in July EU had about 60% of the active non-free trially characters compared to JP according to luckybancho. That gap closed recently but EU has traditionally had much fewer players than NA or JP I believe. According to the latest LuckyBancho NA's population has exploded. It's not to dismiss the issue but when according to the latest Lucky Bancho NA has over twice the number of active characters as EU and still has 3 data centers, something bigger is the problem than just the number of data centers EU has imo
I can't tell if the posts regarding queue times are bait or not. People are this up in arms over not being able to play a game for a day or 2 that they probably spend their lives on. You also got 7 days for free, so in reality you're losing nothing here.
Can you communicate without name-calling? I mean, I know it's fashionable to bully people with name-calling (karen, chad, wypipo, libtard, and other popular terms), but really?
