They don't have to be clairvoyant, they have to have a brain and compare the number under "server capacity" chart and the number under "units of Endwalker sold" chart. If B > A then you need to do something fast or apologize and issue refunds.
I am an extremely casual player. Extremely casual. I have three young children and log in at highly sporadic times.
The game is effectively unplayable to me. If I get an hour to play and it has to happen now, then I'm literally not playing this game.
To answer your questions specifically:
1. What have they NOT provided? A game that I can log into and play when I'm able to do so. This is how services work. When a business doesn't provide a service when it's convenient to the customer, then they're effectively not providing the service.
2. Are they supposed to be clairvoyant? This is very ignorant. You don't need to be a prophet to forsee this problem. You need to care enough to resolve the issue in the months leading up to release. They didn't do that.
It's disappointing but players like me are just left with a purchase we can't enjoy. Again, I don't have the luxury of time, so pretending like I'm being "impatient" and it's my fault for expecting to be able to play approximately when I want is gaslighting.
@Lillith1047 This is way worse than Wow ever was. Poor testament to a company that's supposed to be the "wow killer". The explanations are excuses. 3-4 years ago Blizzard implemented a system to mostly mitigate this kind of thing on launch days and it worked. I guess this company needs to actually PLAN on this type of thing instead of letting things fall apart. They saw it coming. No excuses will do justice to the fact they did not prepare.
BTW, interesting discrimination you're using there. You seem to be more upset than the people justifiably upset about the situation. I hope you keep talking like that so they ban you permanently. Please stop dissing people and discriminating in any form.

You seem to be the one filled with hate against your fellow players. People are justifiably upset. Stop discriminating and name calling and walk away. That's the people you need to be screaming at, not people making a video game and doing the best they can. But, none of this matters cause everyone only sees hate now, and only screams and cries when they don't get what they want. I'll gladly wait in queue for a game I love. I don't complain about the wait, cause hey, at least I CAN play. It's not like they charged you and then shut everything down and said ok, bye!
Considering we had a mass exodus from another MMO and a population explosion mere months before the expansion launch, and Semiconductors are on a 6-12 month waitlist right now, it'd be genuinely impossible to do anything other than apologize and try to weather the storm with what you have in their shoes
considering the current wait times for hardware they'd have needed to know about this population explosion a year+ ago which just isn't really feasible to think about, that doesn't excuse that things are shaky right now but you work with what you've got and they're stretching what they have as thin as possible to get as many people in as they can with their current hardware and netcode, and i'll say as someone who's gotten to play, when you get in, it's very stable, more stable than any other mmo i've ever played at launch, it's pretty clear to me they've picked their comfortable capacity that they get as many people in for the best experience possible without being detrimental to the overall gameplay experience of those inside

Everything in your post tells me you're not a serious person.
They attempted a Cloud migration that turned out unfeasible, and bought more hardware at the beginning of 2021 that has yet to arrive. What else is the dev team supposed to do? All they CAN do is give people more comp time.
The Sheer ignorance of the posts in this forums blaming SE for something they literally have no control over.
Queue time and why this is beyond Yoshi-P and the Dev team control
There is a worldwide massive chip shortage it's affecting a lot of tech companies due to the 2020 pandemic and it doesn't seem it will get any better anytime soon. Gettering certain parts and materials for servers are as difficult as getting brand new video cards. Eventually, they will get the parts they need to improve the current game servers. Anyone who works or knows about the tech industry knows how messed up the semiconductor shortage is at this moment.
Be thankful that Yoshi-P has been very transparent about this and has been warning for months that Queue times will be bigger than ever due to all the new players. if this was any other developer they wouldn't be as transparent and probably give you a very generic corporate response that's essentially "Tough shit deal with it"
While queue times are a pain in the ass, the Launch of Endwalker has been a success
Minor hiccups during the launch of EW, the servers have been up and people have been able to successfully play and finish the MSQ and accomplish tasks. Yes it sucks that you probably have an 8 to 5 job and when you come home you can't play during the prime time hours due to the Queue, trust me I get it it's frustrating and annoying, and yes I'm paying for a service I cannot currently fully enjoy at "my time" but that's really no one's fault considering the current circumstances. I'd be more livid and pissed if SE didn't warn us for months that this was going to happen. Considering how botched launches are common in Video Games like Battlefield 4, Fallout: New Vegas, and even as recent with GTA: The Trilogy. EW Launch, while a bit rocky it has been good.
Everyone needs to learn patience because
This is the new norm until A) a large majority of people finish the MSQ and get their Hunt rewards B)SE finally gets the server parts and improves the game services to allow more players to play the game.
Yes it sucks we can't play at the time we want to and we have to deal with a long queue, could SE spend millions of dollars on server improvements and rent servers? Yes but renting servers comes with its own caviat and there is a lot of potential security risks involved and it's probably not cost-effective.
They lied about 2002 error
Yes and no. Yes, your home connectivity can cause error 2002, but even if you have the perfect Network you will still get 2002 randomly after 15 minutes. Why are we getting kicked off? there are tons of variables why, but it is something the dev team can control and I'm willing to bet they have placed this in order to protect the servers from causing a massive crash. Should Yoshi-P and the dev team be more clear about this? YES, I heavily criticized them for this. It's more likely that Network Engineer Team Lead or manager told Yoshi-P to blame it on our network connections to cover up the fact it's being done to protect the servers. props to u/Pitiful-Marzipan- for his research regarding this.
You're just white knighting SE
Well I am a paladin main, but that's beside the point. A lot of peeps are frustrated and they want to vent their frustrations and are erroneously blaming SE for something they have no control over. The Pandemic is still a thing affecting thousands of products, Yoshi-P, and the dev team has been very vocal about this issue they didn't expect their game to become this popular in such a short time, to be honest, no one did and they have been very upfront about the server situation.
Tl;dr it's a shitty situation right now but this for once this isn't entirely SE fault.
