I suppose that depends on how large the number of people who didn't pre-order is. I suspect/hope that the overwhelming majority is already with us in wiping to the 2002 boss, so Tuesday shouldn't be all that different.
*buys more ketchup in case Tuesday arrives with a large helping of crow*
if you have an active subscription at the cutoff date (they should really just expand this from "from beginning of early access->until official launch" instead of simply people subscribed at the 7th, thats like my one gripe with it) you will simply get 7 days added to your game time.

Words cannot express the disappointment and frustration Square has inflicted on it's players. It's extremely disheartening and it should be viewed as a slap in the face to all of the artists, designers, and developers who made an absolutely amazing game. Sadly the network managers and directors are deaf, blind, and stupid. They had years to plan. They had time to purchase. Yes there was a huge increase in the player population, but previous expansions should have proven there's likely to be a 20-30% increased interest in the games. Hell, you could have approached Blizzard and negotiated with them to buy their empty servers... 7 free days as compensation is worthless if the game is inaccessible. Now... factor in cost of lost revenue, compensation... suddenly the cost of additional hardware doesn't seem so bad. Time to replace the weak links in your organization.
At this point, anyone thinking it's about long queues is being intentionally contrarian to the point of trolling. It's extremely well known that long queues are not the problem. Even Yoshi has shown he understands this.
And your disrespectful tripe, calling it "whining", does not make you look any better. People have a legitimate complaint about an issue that the leader of the entire dev team has acknowledged is a problem. That alone disqualifies it from being "whining".
They're not deaf and blind, they're having trouble acquiring hardware, they could not have been any more clear about this if they tried.Words cannot express the disappointment and frustration Square has inflicted on it's players. Asking for people to be sacked for something that is completely out of their control says to me you need to step back, stop trying to log in and calm the hell down, thinking this will lead to some giant loss of revenue is also peak entitlement.
They know, they apologised, they're compensating your time, take the hint and stop trying to log in this weekend if you can't get in before peak time starts.

I don't see how this helps.
Are they going to give more free time after our free time expires and we didn't get to play?

They had months to purchase equipment.
Yes, trying to get new hardware because they NOW recognize their shortsightedness is not an excuse.
I'm not upset with the people maintaining the networks. I'm just annoyed with the managers and those making the purchasing decisions.
A lot of companies are afraid to invest in extra hardware because they feel that "after the initial burst" the usage will level off and then they're stuck with a lot of extra servers that will depreciate in value over time.
