The MSQ content of a x.1 patch, and subsequent patches, generally doesn't take as long as the MSQ content of a x.0 patch. That still doesn't explain this "wider breadth of content" that you could be spending your time on during the initial expansion launch, if you were able to skip the MSQ right away. Unless you're referring to time spent in other games.

I never said "during the initial expansion launch", I never mentioned the expansion launch. As for the variety of what I do, my achievements are public.

It's not about being able to skip the MSQ "right away", it's about being able to skip it, period, because whether I'd hypothetically skip it on .0 or .1, I'd skip it regardless, and save time regardless. And since I play plenty of jobs, I'd like not to waste a ton of hours that I could spend leveling, crafting, gathering, farming, etc., without even mentioning stuff outside of the game, skipping cutscenes and running from point a to point b.

I really don't see why MSQ skip couldn't be an option for those that aren't interested in it. A player knowing or not knowing the lore/MSQ does not affect anyone else.

I levelled my alts 100% via dungeons and enjoyed that way more. It also helped me learn the jobs better and faster.

Then you'll just have to live with the fact that a MSQ skip for the current expansion won't be available until the next expansion's release. As for SE's reason for holding it back for that long? It's entirely possible that their system can only skip a character past entire expansions, rather than partial skips. It could also be that they don't want to continuously add a MSQ skip item to the cash shop with every single major patch.
