They are a multi-million dollar corp, they can afford some servers even at inflated prices due to chip shortages.

And they informed us of this being the case months ago. So they've been trying and just haven't been able to get the tech upgrades they need. Hell, thank goodness they were prepping for cross-world play because that probably at least has kept their servers from completely destabilizing. Right now the dev team is basically at the mercy of the global chip shortage. Does that mean people can't be mad? No. I would however state that a lot of this is out of their hands.
