We're all sitting in queues to get in. Sure it's not fun but it is what it is right now and new servers aren't coming or they'd have been here already. They wanted to add new servers per DC and an entirely new Data Center but couldn't

Sitting in queues isn't fun, but I have a hard time swallowing their semi-conductor shortage reasoning. How many previous launches have had login issues? I'm okay with releases having problems. I even expect it. It just seems like an easy out to blame it on the pandemic.

Why they had Oceania scheduled before xpac but had to delay it. Why did they do that? You think they did it just to get people upset. Don't you think the intension if at all possible was to install the servers before if they could? It is the pandemic that created the shortages. That;s a fact and trying to poo poo it as not being the cause doesn't hold water.

I started in a queue of 4100 and now down to 500 with a few disconnects. Am I happy about it no but it is what it is right now. At least once I get in the servers have been pretty stable it's just that way too many people are trying and there aren't enough servers to deal with the rush.

Also, I'm not sure if you are aware of this, but people who don't have endwalker can still log in and play the game. Making "early access" limited wouldn't do much. Its 4 whole days. Thats not going to change much.

When the angry people are namecalling those who disagree with them.. even in the blasted title, you can expect the same treatment back. I get complained at for using the term 'petulant manchildren' yet the people complaining are happily using terms like 'white knights' or 'corporate shills'. It's what we call the pot calling the kettle black.

Both sides of the discussion are disrespecting their opponents, so please don't act as if it's a one sided thing.

I can't speak to Oceania, or really any decision they make because I don't know if I'm being honest. I do THINK there is a conscious decision made around server capacity well in advance of release and that they know capacity will decrease after X amount of days, negating the need for server capacity increases. I could be wrong and it might actually be the semi-conductor shortage but I've seen a decent amount of MMO releases pre-covid and they all follow this same routine.

I think you're right. I probably chose the wrong post to respond to originally, mostly out of irritation of being booted out of queue. People tend to let bias cloud their opinion either way. Shouldn't name call though regardless.
