You and like a few hundred thousand other people. Even the beefiest of servers in the world struggle to handle too many incoming connections from too many people. They can know it's coming all they want but there isn't much anyone can do about it.

Someone stated in another forum post that they haven't added any new servers in over 8 months even though they knew that ALL servers are filled to capacity.

Except they really tried, they even said, that they were willing to pay above standard prices to house all the people who started to join after the WoW exodus. Thing is, there is a massive semiconductor shortage, in case you lived under a rock for the last year or so, and a global pandemic is not helping either.
I critique FF14 and the Devs a lot, but there is literally nothing they could do, heck, they have issues to even get the servers up for the SEA region because they cant get sh*t.
And before you say anything, the Semiconductor shortage is affecting literally everything, not just "servers" it affects anything that has a chip in it. And I can assure you, that Car manufactures are WAYAAA higher on the list than SE
Even so....the feature of "visit another world" to log in, doesn't work either.
I'll defend Square on this one, they openly came out and told us all about semi conductor shortages. The bigger problem is their design on the login queues which is unrelated as it boots you back to desktop and ends the connection, their queue reserve system seems flighty and in need of work as some people are getting back right in place, while others... myself included are ending up at the back of the line each 2002 login error.

Because all of those world's are already at capacity with thousands of people in queues waiting to log on to that server lol.

Feels like people are forgetting that FFXIV saw a completely unexpected surge of population and activity in the last few months just due to a mass exodus from a different game. Also not to mention that this took place during an ongoing global pandemic that is also affecting the acquisition of new server hardware. If they wanted to get the hardware, they very well could have--but due to shortages, they couldn't.
Like people are just not accepting this as an answer when it makes total, logical sense. Square-Enix is a multi-billion dollar company that can't get its hands on new server hardware because literally every industry is suffering shortages and supply issues. Nah, people would rather rationalize that Square-Enix and Naoki Yoshida is personally out to get them and inconvenience them for more money.

Position 79 after almost 2 hours, lets see if I actually get in or get 2002 and hard crashed.
