Totally agree, but I would like to point out, that I joined recently too, the forum that is, otherwise I play since 2.0
People will defend their favorite games to the end of times. But just realize that all MMO companies are always creating new expansion to keep the game going but they always fall short on hardware for X reason. Honestly the login que has been an issue since I came back in June for me. Cleary we all knew it would be worst for EW but still they released the expansion instead of pushing it back and getting adequate hardware to support the influx of users. This is not the worst yet, this is just the pre-order que. Wait till everyone is able to play. This is will be probably 10x worst or higher.

Stop blaming this real thing that actually is affecting multiple industries because I can't handle my fragile sense of worth being shattered over not being able to play a video game.

Everyone can play. Even if they don't have the expansion, they can still log in.People will defend their favorite games to the end of times. They had 3-4 years to fix stuff like this, this isn't a free game, people pay 15 dollars monthly (more than Amazon/Netfllix) to get the most absurd platform regardless to Cash shop, servers etc.
Agree but there are people not playing til they can play the new xpac (haven't bought it, or waiting for xmas, no funds, etc..) Not everyone is lucky enough to have $$ to spend on video games.

They accepted people's money and still pushed it out in this state and you're defending them. They could have taken that large preorder money and put it towards a handful of new servers, they have known since the launch of the ORIGINAL GAME, 11 years ago, that this stuff happens in EVERY MMO and that they should know it will happen and they should be prepared or expect the backlash. Covid is not an excuse, they have had since the announcement trailer of endwalker to acquire hardware for new servers, they are a BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY.

A LOT of class/job adjustments were made until the last minutes during the delay, according to the translation of "Reading the Japanese patch notes" I gathered on FF14 discord. That's why some class/jobs see major changes at launch compared to Media Tour. But these adjustments are NOT the cause for the delay. It is something that was done along with Yoshi-P's personal QA. Some changes may be questionable, but if it helps balance the game, then so be it.
And the server being stuck at launch is clearly not his fault. They have posts that EXPLAIN WHY already. It is not SE's fault that the pandemic and global shortage of semiconductors happen, which make them have to delay the launch of OCE data centers or new worlds, which would've helped a lot during EW launch. But those things are your reality, and congestion is inevitable. Blaming SE being incompetent because of something out of their control is like blaming the government for a random typhoon destroying your house.
I'm in no means defending them but they are also a business which has metrics to meet in order to survive. Of course I'm salty that I can't login into the game to play the new content because I work 72hrs a week and this is my only day off and I have spent it in the login que with no success of logging in cause it booted me. But that's life. RIP
