Please fix the grace period while in queue

Entered the queue at 1,997 and after 80 minutes it finally got down to 24. Sat at the queue count for about 5 minutes (not unexpected just need a few people to log off) then got a 2002 lobby error. Now I'm at 2,730 in queue even though it took me less than 30 seconds to get back into the queue.

I know the system is in place to remember queue position because this morning I got several lobby errors and was given my position in queue again while some of my friends were still behind me in queue.

This is what frustrates me. I don’t care that there is a long que, i totally understand that, but its real frustrating when ive been in que for hours only to get a 2002 error and booted to the back of the line.

It exists, and always has. Cancel your login then immediately queue back up on the same character, you'll be in the same spot. Gonna try some ARR hacking when I get <300 (back then if you were <100 you could cancel and log straight in without a queue)

They might have already done this. Its working for me now, and I was out of queue for a good 2-3 minutes.

I think when you make it to zero and get the boot you've completed the queue. Issue could also be their new afk auto-logout, so try rotating view periodically while in queue.

If ti crashes due to lobby error there is a grace period. Just happened and logged back into the same spot. Other crashes seem to be resetting the server queue.

It's not an issue with making it to 0 in the queue. People are getting the lobby error at all sorts numbers in queue, from 1 to 1200 and higher. It doesn't matter where you are in queue when the error hits, you're sent to the back of the line regardless.

And it's not a time-out thing. Myself, and several others, have pointed out that we're babysitting the queue. The afk logout is 30 minutes. I'm not spending 30 minutes between checking and clicking in the FFXIV window. It's on my main monitor and I'm typing this on my second monitor as I babysit the broken queue system.

I did, however, spend the past 20 minutes getting error 2002 without even being able to get into the queue at all. And when I finally get back into the queue? Almost 2500. This is after numerous error 2002 and 4004 ranging from 8 players in queue to 2000 in queue.

It's already been pointed out that this is not true.

I should mention that the error that kicked me back to #3,836 happened while I was #880, which honestly confuses me. The first error happened while I was #24 so my assumption was that I reached the front of the line while I was disconnected. The #880 one doesn't follow that logic though. I'm now #71 in queue, wish me luck friends.

I'm thinking the "grace period" is only as long as your position isn't called. Like if you are a low number like 10 and you get errored out then probably a lot of other people got errored out. This makes it likely that #10 was called to enter the game and you were nowhere to be found. Where as someone at say position 10,000 just had half the people infront of them error out and he hasn't been called. So when he errors out he can get back in at 5-10k
