Yesterday had a pleasure to get thanked by a BLM for rescuing him away from the bahamut dive in seat of sacrifice, it felt so nice.


I rarely use Rescue since I play with a controller so selecting the player quick and on reaction is rough unless I can see some seconds ahead of what will happen.

Read what I actually said again, it was not just the one NM and she had screwed up the entire map for everyone and refused to share the tracker.
We ended up wasting a lot of time trying to get other NM's to pop but we couldn't because we had no idea which could and which couldn't, and this same person was then gloating about it and being an asshole in chat about it.

And she used that argument too that '' I poped them so I get to do what I want '', but again we were trying to pop things too but couldn't and the reason why we couldn't was because of her to begin with it's a circular thing that all went back to her being a jerk.


Edit: The same person also was all like '' PT 29:40, there happy? '' which is basically immediately and then was acting like a snarky jerk about it.
This wasn't normal behaviour in Eureka at all.

Well okay, but arguing with them was definitely not the way to go. Based from your story it was clear they did it with no regards to other players' enjoyment; there is no getting around talking with such individuals. All that does is ruining your day... and potentially flooding the chat with pointless argument. The only bright side of this occasion is that it raises awareness of such individual in the same zone, but that's about it. At that point it might be wiser to just move out of Eureka and do something else.

No, it's not the norm, I agree. Which in turn will make them stick out like a sore thumb amongst many regular Eurekan players. Sooner or later they will either get out from Eureka after getting their enjoyment, or stay in the zones and gets ostracized themselves by the mass. And they will still do their thing, regardless.

There's this one notorious individual in my DC that literally does what that person do in your story. Many are encouraged and openly admitting to reporting that individual. For years. Result? They're still alive and kicking, doing their thing. I couldn't imagine how exhausting it is to try to reason with such individual.

I have witnessed it many a time - and more often than not in an Alliance raid, when one tank is literally trolling everyone and constantly turning or Provoking bosses, running their TBs into the raid, etc. I don't know why it's so specific to that content, but it is.

Anyway - not a DF moment per say, but I think it fits here.

Was possessed by the spirit of masochism yesterday and was doing FATEs in the Hinterlands for my last relic before moving on to Castrum duty. Things were chill, I was randomly joined sometimes by a catgirl pair also doing their relics, re-learning WAR after not touching it for 2 years... dropped down to the FATE with the little worm things by Arboretum, when suddenly I get a /tell ping.

Honestly, probably could've and should've reported them - clearly this is not the first time they've malded at someone after a run like that, and that kinda behavior in general is incredibly toxic to partake in (when it's done in this manner). But they apologized for the mistake, so.. eh? Slightly regret not reporting now, because someone like that is just gonna get abusive to another person later on, but little too late now.

I personally didn't actually argue, unless you'd count me pointing out the poor optics to her.
The most I did really was to point out what she was doing to others who were wondering why they couldn't get anything to pop or get to any NM and question why she thought being smug and a jerk to people was a good idea.
I actually think that if she was going to be like this then she should simply have ignored us and been quiet, it's the fact that she started arguing with people and be really toxic that just baffled me.
But I guess some people get off on being assholes, but then again I also don't believe that those kinds of people belong in MMO's they just make the experience negative for everyone around them.

I really have no clue what I said that made her think I was malding, basically any pushback at all is malding I guess.
I wasn't even heated at all and there definitely were people who were.
Maybe she mistook me for someone else that's possible too altho it doesn't change much.

You would care if it negatively affected you in the game, which is why I do think that people with the '' screw everyone else '' mentality to such an extent that it negatively affects other peoples experience repeatedly over a long period of time should be outed.
Because if they began having issues finding groups or if people started treating them the same way they'd ultimately be forced to change.

And if a lot of people are getting mad at you at the same time then maybe some introspection would be appropriate.
And like I said I remember this person doing the same thing since before months ago and have screenshots of it too, looking at the screenshots it was actually worse last time and she had a friend who was even worse with her.
There actually were things said too that I do think could get them a warning at least, I got whispered by someone who said they were reporting and others said it in chat too so that should tell you something too.
I didn't personally it's pretty hard to get me to actually report you, you'd have to do something rly extreme.
But I do think that what this person did counts as intentional griefing especially with their behaviour on display when simply asked to wait.




Edit: Lol, I just had a Qitana Ravel run where I tanked as SAM and we ran out of time.
I think this is the first time I've ever ran out of time in a dungeon before.

Booster party except me, the WHM and DNC I mean they obviously were pretty clueless but Healer could at least keep people alive somewhat decently.
But the Tank just used all his cds on cd I kept seeing him do that channel dmg reduction ability for a split second constantly lol.
And he never did any AoE abilities always single-target so he was always only tanking one mob at a time.
Per usual he didn't listen when I asked him to use AoE skills just kept doing the same thing.

We got to last boss and I remembered that you can't just tank n spank it, everyone who wasn't me that got the link died from it I explained the mechanics to them and even marked myself so they could follow but it still didn't work.
We probably spent an hour on the boss and then ran out of time xD....

Pain, I just wanted my quick daily.
Come to think of it I am really surprised we managed with the first boss too, we just got incredibly lucky on the first and second boss I guess with where the AoE's landed.
Because they sure weren't moving out of anything.

None of the PLD tanks in my recent roulettes have been willing to let excog pop. They just see their health dropping, assume I'm not paying attention, and start spamming clemency. Then excog eventually times out...

I had yet another incident of mistaken identity - this time in Syrcus Tower.

An AST in one of the other parties kept ending up pulling bosses/adds, because all three tanks would just sit around on their hands long after everyone arrived at the gates; this AST had my main's first name as their last name.

A MNK in my group either wasn't paying attention or somehow mixed up a lalafell with a viera (really?), because at the second set of adds after Scylla, they said in Alliance chat that I should stop pulling and wait for everyone to arrive. Cue the lalafell giving a snarky response, someone else going "bruh", and me just adding "it's just ST, and the tanks aren't bothering to pull".

This person stayed salty about it the whole way through, as they do. During Amon, people didn't focus on the slime adds, so everyone got a double dose of Silence, which resulted in people dying - including all three tanks, somehow? Despite the fact this was the second set of slimes, not the first ones to spawn after the boss is pulled, the MNK just had to go "that's a lot of bodies on the floor for it to be Just ST".

Some people really gotta let go of that passive aggressive malding. I am also starting to realize how many people there are in this game with some variation of the name Crowe, lmao.

This happens to me so many times that when I enter anything, I kindly ask the tank to, please kindly let the excog pop when I put it on them. Some people know how it works but not everyone plays scholar to know. I met people who have the Burger King crown and did not know how this ability works, in my own friend group Now they love it.

To me a recent best moment was when I rescued a new player in the 1st Nier raid and they said thanks for not letting them burn to death. (There were a lot of newbies that day and everything took so long to do, but we did it ^.^)

I just had people arguing about bad calls and dropping arguments about their win rate % for the week in Frontline, that's a first

I didn't expect to have another one to share so soon, but here we are! It's a short one: a quick bedtime story to read, if you will.

So, having graduated from Stone Vigil hell academy, I decided to queue for a little Dzemael Darkhold on the sprout alt. I queue as DRG, zone in and off we go! The tank seems reluctant to do big pulls, which is a bit unfortunate but fine with me, and all goes well until we get to the room before the first boss (with the two magitek portal thingies you have to stand in to open the door). The tank decides to skip the group of two mobs on the right and runs down the ramp, picking up the rest. The healer aggros the group he skipped, tank doesn't notice, healer is in full panic mode and just standing there doing nothing with mobs scratching their eyeballs; tank dies, healer dies, we all die.

No biggie, stuff happens, we run back, the tank pulls a single patrol mob to get it out of the way and the healer... is not joining us. We manage to kill the mob, ask if they're coming and we get a "We have to open the door..." response. We realize they were standing in the first magitek portal, the one that opens the optional room and isn't necessary to open the boss room's door, which we point out before proceeding back into the larger room to pull the same mobs as before. The healer pulls the side group that the tank tried to skip again, we wipe again and the healer instantly drops group. I don't know if they were embarrassed or just upset for whatever reason, but that was really bizarre either way. A new healer showed up and we cleared the dungeon just fine.
