They're just good friends. Nothing more to it.

Friendship ? What's that any relationship between 2 ppl is obviously romance / sex related.
We do... I mean, no one ships Lyse with Minfillia or Y'shtola.
How revealing is it to think including non heterosexual couples ina game is political statement. Really telling on yourself there
It's a pendulum that swings both ways, we've hit a point where people no longer can see friendships in most forms of media and only seem to want to see something more than it most likely is. Look at Animal Crossing, 2 NPCs admit they work together and even refer to each other as partners and yet all people seem to see is "OMG THEY'RE SUPER GAY!!1!". It's just shallow and the highest form of grabbing a straws.

You might be clueless about the world we live in if you do believe that it's not a political statement of any sort.
The world isn't the US nor the western world which is a minority in it when it comes down to numbers, and there was and there will have a LOT of debate about it in the years to come.
Like it or not doesn't change much about this issue either, and being aggresive towards those who are aware of that doesn't help at all, but w/e it's pretty common nowadays to have this kind of comment especially in this english-speaking world.
Because that is exactly what this thread is doing: make everything look like they have some kind of political message. A rainbow crystal is not necessarily a LGBT+ promotion. Two girls becoming close friends and risk their lives for each other is not necessary a gay relationship. I doubt such things going through the head of the writers when they develop the story, and it is just the OP thinks everything with rainbow is a message for the sake of LGBT+.
Honestly, I don't mind if Ryne and Gaia turn gay and live together happily ever after, but until I see a clear evidence that they are more than just best friends, they are just a pair of best friends in my eyes. You are free to think otherwise.

Same, you're free to think and believe whatever you want BUT you have no right to push on others what only you believe.
As long as you keep that to yourself and dont talk about it as the truth and that everyone must believe it too, i won't have any problem with it.
We have no proof whatsoever about that, and we dont need it it's open to everyone to believe what they want about it, i see them as friends and nothing more based on i've seen, you're free to disagree but i wont push it to you that they're friend and you must think they are, so dont try to push what you believe on me.
Wow thats awful and totally not something people do with hetero pairings as well. Lucia and Aymeric have never been shipped by anyone after all. It's a pendulum that swings both ways, we've hit a point where people no longer can see friendships in most forms of media and only seem to want to see something more than it most likely is. The political issue is over things like discrimination and legal recognition. Not the very existence of LGBT people, unless you're completely out of it of course. You might be clueless about the world we live in if you do believe that it's not a political statement of any sort.

Why wouldn't it go through their heads? There's for sure LGBT people working at Square, hell they were at 41st Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/blog/002680.htmlBecause that is exactly what this thread is doing: make everything look like they have some kind of political message. And you're entitled to your opinion, I just disagree and will make an argument for why. The fact that so many people are desperate to shut down is what bothers me, especially since there isn't even a single out character in the game.
