Actually, incorrect. In Japan the Age of Consent is 13. Don't apply Western Values to a Japanese game.

To once again correct this blatant misinformation that's constantly spread by a certain demographic in an attempt to justify their sexualisation of a certain age group, the age of consent is only 13 on a "federal/national" level via the Japanese Penal Code of 1907, in which it is effectively established as the minimum age of consent that any of prefectures and municipalities can go by. This misinformation further ignores the Child Welfare Act of 1947, wherein a child is defined as any individual under the age of 18 and which further forbids acts of harlotry, fornication and other such obscenities with said individuals. It also further ignores local municipal and prefecture laws wherein the age of consent is generally bumped up to a range of 16-18, sometimes with caveats such as parental consent.

As the actual answer usually goes with any sort of legal matter, it is far more nuanced than a general blanket statement can usually cover.

On a national level yes, but every prefecture has an age higher than that. I believe most are 15 or 16, and 1 may be as high as 18 iirc.
