Not a mentor myself but I sometimes watch streamers do mentor roulette and "tank instapulls, then they wipe, then immediately instapulls again" is so common it's painful.7 sprouts and me, the very tired mentor.
1 angry tank that pulls and pulls and dies and doesnt wait for explanations. Sees my text directions in chat as me being snarky "please tank her north" "please stack at the beginning of phase 2".
1 angry healer that asks if all mentor have their head so far up their ass as I do.
1 very tired mentor still takes the time to explain the mechanics over and over again while the rest pleade with the two angry ones to let the mentor explain so we can clear (I did make ONE snarky comment after the third wipe when the tank said he was new to the instance which was "I can tell".)
1 very tired mentor takes the team to clear after 45 minutes.
1 very tired mentor is very close to quitting at this point.
Just another Shiva Ex.
I get they're new, but there seems to be this idea that they'll win if they just slam their head against it hard enough.
The instapull tanks are one reason I let my ability to access mentor roulette lapse...ran in to WAY too many of those...maybe I'll unlock it again next week when I have free time. Not a mentor myself but I sometimes watch streamers do mentor roulette and "tank instapulls, then they wipe, then immediately instapulls again" is so common it's painful.

cure 1 fisher's and medica 1 users are one and the same. especially those who tell you you're annoying when you ask them to use medica 2 instead of medica 1 lol.
mans had the nerve to complain about a w2w being hard when he cast cure 1 every like 15 seconds and tank had to clemency. yeah, a w2w in holminster switch is going to be hard if you, y'know, use one of the lowest potency spells at your arsenal and don't even try.

I totally get that it can be difficult to pump out full sentences whilst in the middle of a dungeon, but I feel like if you're going to keep telling them what to do, it may be worth explaining a tiny bit of why it's a smarter choice. It doesn't have to be anything long-winded.cure 1 fisher's and medica 1 users are one and the same. especially those who tell you you're annoying when you ask them to use medica 2 instead of medica 1 lol.

Not saying you said anything wrong, that was quite polite as far as DF runs go! But it may help people absorb the advice better instead of possibly putting their hackles up. Granted I think some people are born with them up, but never hurts to toss a little sugar their way.
But yeah, that run sounds less than fun. lol.

this tea is toxic, don't drink it!
jk, been leveling NIN, WAR and BRD through holminster, dohn mheg and qitana and could quote your posts verbatim about the experiences, though I did manage to get a tank to give W2W pulling a try in the latter and it worked out without problems, which made them and the healer happy!![]()
To be honest, I typically explain things at the end - when everything's dead. Normally it's "Please use X" and then towards when we're done it's "X has Y potency increase as well as Z effect so it's better to use." There's just, no time to explain when in order to do so I'd have to stop DPSing for minutes at a time. Easier to stick to auto translate phrases and then give them a bit more explanation and tell them how to better read their tooltips once we're out of harms way. And normally, it works! This guy just... had a stick up his butt.I totally get that it can be difficult to pump out full sentences whilst in the middle of a dungeon, but I feel like if you're going to keep telling them what to do, it may be worth explaining a tiny bit of why it's a smarter choice. Honestly! It feels like those three specifically just attract some really lazy people - but at the same time, I'm spamming dozens of those a week so it's not like this is a really common occurrence. Most of the times my runs are nothing to write home about, either positively or negatively.this tea is toxic, don't drink it!

That's a good way to do it! Another run of NG+. I’ve reached Malikah’s Hell & for some reason I decided to use DF instead of Trust NPC.
And I half-regretted it: Benefic I AST, trying their best to keep me, the WAR—alive… thankfully the DPSes are stellar awesome & Nascent Flash is a boon.
If Mt.Gulg via Trust make me think twice, I think Mt.Gulg via DF next time will make me think thrice. >_>”
