Pekora is a multi millionaire. I am sure they will get over it somehow. If they want to avoid that type of interaction they can play the game off stream. So last night I saw Pekora (popular vtuber in JP) just started playing FFXIV and I'm surprised she got same treatment like Asmongold day 1. People covered her character, spamming dm till she figured how to /busy, and killed her tagged mobs. I guess everyone has same attitude toward popular streamer huh...?

This really is less about how the streamer is going to deal with their job being kinda annoying one day (and really yes.. she likely makes far more than enough to shrug off a bad day) and wayy more about how bad this looks for the FFXIV community.
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
Yes I am sure this never happens in other mmos when a highly popular streamer starts playing. The XIV is community is so terrible. Happy?

Uh.. no? I had hoped the FFXIV community, especially the JP one who generally is more respectful of other peoples experience (just normal people.. not even streamers) would have given her some space, but this a pretty bad face to present to ANY large public audience. If people who might have enjoyed the game get a bad impression because someone can only show basically gobbue butts all stream, then we lose potential players.
I'm starting to see that you're just looking to dump in this thread, but Pekora in particular is one of the largest female streamers in the world whereas say.. Asmond was more of one of the larger MMO streamers. Why does this matter? Streamers, like it or not, are a big draw for games. They are how a lot of todays young adults and children find new games. They are the new "entertainers" of this generation. I could go into WHY but I'm pretty sure you're just here for negativity and to dismiss. But I'll close in saying that the concern here is that FFXIV being exposed to the larger population this streamer has as a negative experience is something anyone interested in the expansion of FFXIV should dislike.

Only following this by why other people have commented, but I understand she started in Elemental which is home to Tonberry server and thus generally attracts more English speakers across the data centre. So even if it the behaviour is completely a language-cultural divide, playing here does not mean you'll only be playing with the polite Japanese people.
That's for sure. I immediately thought she'd rolled on Elemental when hearing about the behavior. It's sad that my beloved data center is representing itself poorly to such a large audience.Only following this by why other people have commented, but I understand she started in Elemental which is home to Tonberry server and thus generally attracts more English speakers across the data centre. I don't agree with anything you said. You are trying to stir up controversy where there is none. Enjoy yourself.Uh.. no? That is your prerogative.
I'm not trying to do anything other than give perspective on why someone would be concerned about a popular streamer having a bad experience in this game.
You do you.
As always the forums astounds me with the kinds of things that people will vehemently argue against or deny.
She rolled in Bahamut.. so I dunno. I really don't think it was just english tourist BMing... just a lot of people excited to see her not realizing what they're doing.Only following this by why other people have commented, but I understand she started in Elemental which is home to Tonberry server and thus generally attracts more English speakers across the data centre.
