Female Hrothgar as a playable race. Show your support!

It doesn't matter if it's niche or "not a lot of people will play it". Some people will play it. It brings diversity to the world, and I think that's really important when it comes to character customization. Some people will say "you shouldn't add diversity into the game for diversity's sake", but in this context, I think they are absolutely wrong. It should be for diversity's sake. The point of character customization is to offer a diverse set of options to customize your character. That's the whole point. Ok, look, if it was an absolutely ridiculous race like... part zombie, cow, bird, pig, bear, then yeah, it shouldn't be added. There are limits, but we're not talking about something crazy unreasonable like that. The ladies already have options to choose from if they want something beautiful or cute, but no options for beastly. Also, it's not as if I think female hrothgar are going to be masculine. I think they will maintain some femininity (most likely will be big and curvy), but I would be totally cool with it if they were more on the bulky side, too. What I don't understand is why some people are so adverse to the idea, especially when they have other options that fit their aesthetic already in the game.

I'm not going to play hrothgar since it's not my thing, but I enjoy seeing them in the world because they look different. They are very eye catching and sometimes I find myself stopping what I'm doing just to take a look and appreciate the model. It makes everything feel much more immersive and breathes life into the game. I think a lot of people feel this way. Just because a bigger/bulky/masculine female hrothgar doesn't cater to me doesn't mean it shouldn't be included. I saw some of the artwork of the more hefty looking female hrothgars and it looked awesome (even if I don't think they will end up looking like that). And just a side note, but I do think character customization should be improved in general. I would really like it if all races had more options to choose from.

Square should definitely hire you for the concept art. Some would say that I'm a furry, but you know what? I'm cool with that. Like, I do love the Hrothgars since they look the most beastly while others look pretty humanoid or demi-humans(non-Humans who look very Human if you will). Finished playing FFX via Xbox game pass, and I love the Ronso for the sole reason that I love anthro cats(thanks to shows like thunder cats and SWAT Katz).

That "Niche" is the point and pretty much the Pitch for Diversity. But overall I agree with Everything you are saying.

Whats really weird is The Viera thread gets all this support saying "Oh yeah, if people are asking for it, then its totally valid". But then here we are with the Furry Race; Hrothgar, and now its all "Wasted Resources" Its rather curious.

I don't think it's much of a mystery as to why people thing F Hrothgar are a "waste of resources and time".

We know they are coming, so the devs have decided that they aren't actually a waste of time. They said the moment Hrothgar were announced that they were made to fill a niche, and I don't have any doubts that this is the direction they will take F Hrothgar as well.

Why should 1 camp get what they want, but another camp shouldn't?
Not like we are asking for anything outlandish. And if people wanna make the argument that instead of making a new race, they should take the resources somewhere else more important...the same could be said about Viera.
Maybe we just shouldn't have gotten new races at all yknow?

Honestly, without giving out names, there are very few people genuinely against non-Miqo'te-looking female Hroths, most just seem to be trolling and taunting because it's a niche within a niche, and/or they're bored...but I guess it's also a way to keep the thread from sinking /shrug

To be honest the male Viera thread has had really bad moments too while the fem hroth thread was pretty civil. It seems like the discussions have shifted over here xD I think the situation in the Viera thread has cooled down because we practically know everything about them. (design, height ect.)

Nah, there was plenty of that in the male viera thread, too. And some in the original viera thread.
For a long time, I requested male viera look like the cute and small concept or the taller bishounen and slim looking concept art - either one would have been fine with me. And I've also made a suggestion to make them a little shorter than the females, which also received a lot of push back. One of the arguments people would use is that it was too "niche", and that it would be better if male viera were taller than the females, buffer, and ~classically handsome~ instead of bishounen or kind of kpop-ish.

I don't mean any disrespect to people who wanted them taller because they just preferred it that way - that's totally fine. But there were some people who kept arguing it was too niche and "diversity for diversity's sake", which I thought was silly.
