this person sounds like a real charmer
This sounds like another wow bad ff good topic.

If he was an actual WoW refugee, he wouldn't be saying WoW was better. He's here because WoW is dead, few victims there for him to harass. True WoW refugees have come to FF to escape the kind of players like the one you encountered. They have come here or to other games to escape a toxic player base and a toxic company.Just wanted to share my concern and annoyance with you guys and if you've had similar experiences or not.
Theres this guy on light datacenter that keeps early pulling hunts. Then he just trashtalks everyone and saying bad thing about the FFXIV community.
And when I messaged him to ask why he does this he just says that WoW is better and hes only here to raid when endwalker comes anyway so he doesn't care people blacklist him.
I know early pulls have always been a thing now and then. But this guy is taking it to another level of toxic.
Also I'm aware it's not a bannable offense.
The player you were dealing with was not a WoW refugee, but a typical WoW hardcore raider.
In all seriousness, this guy sounds like a conventional troll spinning a narrative to "justify" his behavior.
From prior experience, hunt trolls tend to be attention seekers and/or housing petty grudges and using their behavior to lash out at others in a manner that they can't get banned for (Due to the whole "hunts are free for alls" technicality).
The best thing to do is for people to not empower the trolls or the impatient by just not following up on their pulls instead of allowing them to dictate when it's going to be killed. Few things are more satisfying then seeing one of said people get played by the crowd who just idly watches while a hunt kills them instead of gratifying them by succumbing to mob mentality.

Your reply went to weird places. No need to bring WoW into it at all. You're having problems with another human, full stop. Whether or not they played WoW in the past is as significant as their favorite flavor of ice cream or their race.
Change your title and see the effect. It's the same problem media has these days, and it's bad. What do I mean?
"MAN CALLS POLICE ON OTHER MAN LOITERING IN THE PARK" - Not sensational. Who gives a crap if a man called the cops on another man? No one. But...
"WHITE MAN CALLS POLICE ON BLACK MAN LOITERING IN THE PARK" - Now it's sensational. Now the title insinuates racism. Nevermind that white and black interact all day every day, and sometimes that interaction will be to call the police. This is an attempt to sensationalize, fearmonger, and sell papers / website subs.
Okay now.
"Small rant about certain player behaviour" - Not sensational. Players interact all day, every day and sometimes the interaction will be negative. Normal. Standard.
"Small rant about certain toxic WoW refugee behaviour". - Sensationalism. See previous.
No one cares what game they played before, smart people see the attempt to paint WoW in a bad light via the 'sensational headline'. And if you look at media headlines and actually let the irrelevant, sensational parts affect your opinion of other humans... that ain't good.
Human interacts with human. Not 'WoW-playing XYZ human interacts with FFXIV-playing ABCDEFG human.' None of that other stuff matters.

Hunt early pullers and nasty people aren't new and certainly aren't unique to WoW
This isn't an epidemic, this is just a handful of bad apples. Same as always.
"Run when you have to, fight when you must, rest when you can." - Elyas Machera, The Wheel of Time
Early pulling has been happening since day 1 of Hunts. Its not because we have people over here from WoW (people really need to drop this tribal crap. We are all mmo players and most of us have played other mmos including WoW, a shocker I know.) And as several other people pointed out it is not a bannable as hunts are first come first serve.
and you're the "typical ffxiv player" who equates WoW raiding with bad, toxic behaviour, generalising millions of people as deplorable human beings in the process while sitting on your high horse because 'XIV isn't as toxic'
first of all, you must be blind if you haven't experienced/seen the community be just as toxic as the WoW community, secondly, just because of your own experiences with raiders (if you've played WoW before, that is*) were bad, doesn't mean that every single WoW raider is bad - and last but not least, your post is just as "toxic" as the players you decry
*at least half the players I see whining about how WoW is bad in game have never even touched the game at all, yet because it's apparently cool to do so, they whine and complain about that game as if they're the biggest nolifers and have played the game from the first minute it released, call anyone they don't like, for the stupidest reasons too, WoW players as if it's a bad insult and are generally unpleasant people, so is every player that complains about WoW players in XIV now a toxic player like those people? no, generalising a ton of people over a few interactions is stupid

There are plenty of 'FFXIV OGs' out there displaying less than ideal behavior (you only need to take a trip to the 'Tales from the Duty Finder thread' to find some quality examples). Yet every time a self-proclaimed WoW player says or does something bad, someone always feels the need to make a brand new thread about it, deploring the presence of the Current/Former WoW community.
Yes, this community is lovely. Yes, the WoW community has quite the reputation for being toxic (and after 15 years of playing that game, I've seen it all, trust me), but stop acting like the current influx of players is a bad thing for the game. Stop the doomsaying over isolated incidents. I'm sure some of the trolls and brats will trickle through but the majority of 'WoW refugees' are normal players looking for new experiences and adapting to the community just fine.
