Small rant about certain toxic WoW refugee behaviour

Just wanted to share my concern and annoyance with you guys and if you've had similar experiences or not.

Theres this guy on light datacenter that keeps early pulling hunts. Then he just trashtalks everyone and saying bad thing about the FFXIV community.
And when I messaged him to ask why he does this he just says that WoW is better and hes only here to raid when endwalker comes anyway so he doesn't care people blacklist him.

I know early pulls have always been a thing now and then. But this guy is taking it to another level of toxic.
Also I'm aware it's not a bannable offense.

I'm pretty sure trashtalking can be TOS breaking depending on what's being said.

If you report him I doubt he will be raiding during Endwalker. Also no raid group will put up with him anyways.

Nothing can be done about this. Open world hunts are just that, open world. They are first come, first serve kills in a way. It's the general community that made the rule to wait for everyone else to get there.

Report them for this. Pretty sure this is considered harassment.

Never start a dialog with toxic people. Just report them and move on. Sending them messages like this just makes things worse.

No need to bring WoW into it at all. You're having problems with another human, full stop. Whether or not they played WoW in the past is as significant as their favorite flavor of ice cream or their race.

Change your title and see the effect. It's the same problem media has these days, and it's bad. What do I mean?

"MAN CALLS POLICE ON OTHER MAN LOITERING IN THE PARK" - Not sensational. Who gives a crap if a man called the cops on another man? No one. But...
"WHITE MAN CALLS POLICE ON BLACK MAN LOITERING IN THE PARK" - Now it's sensational. Now the title insinuates racism. Nevermind that white and black interact all day every day, and sometimes that interaction will be to call the police. This is an attempt to sensationalize, fearmonger, and sell papers / website subs.

    Okay now.

"Small rant about certain player behaviour" - Not sensational. Players interact all day, every day and sometimes the interaction will be negative. Normal. Standard.
"Small rant about certain toxic WoW refugee behaviour". - Sensationalism. See previous.

No one cares what game they played before, smart people see the attempt to paint WoW in a bad light via the 'sensational headline'. And if you look at media headlines and actually let the irrelevant, sensational parts affect your opinion of other humans... that ain't good.

Human interacts with human. Not 'WoW-playing XYZ human interacts with FFXIV-playing ABCDEFG human.' None of that other stuff matters.

Yeah, like the core of the issue. Such a weird place to go.

OP's "sensational headline" and half of the nonsense garbage we read in the media daily are one and the same. Overlooking delusional day-to-day behavior is at the core of the issue.

When I see this nonsense, I call it out. If that makes me weird, so be it.

One can absolutely bring WoW into the equation when the offender brought up WoW. Also the WoW community is a toxic cesspool. It is one of the absolute worst communities I have ever been a part of. Stop defending it. They don't deserve a defense.

You don't know "the WoW community" in its entirety, you have absolutely zero authority to label it as such, and the "WoW community" varies from person to person anyway.

    Example?

I spent twenty-four thousand hours in WoW, never had anyone on an ignore list, and got in disagreements with perhaps fewer than a dozen folks over all those hours... over all those years. That's because I was kind, friendly, and surrounded myself with good people. Ran a socially active guild that always had somewhere around 200 active members, and very few requirements to join, which means that (get this) the "community" actually joined my guild pretty much at will. The only thing we didn't allow were names against the ToS, so those were the only people I declined - ever.

I believe I removed three people over the years (out of thousands that came and went) for "toxicity" after they'd already joined.

What community were you surrounding yourself with? Surely wasn't the same one I was in. Explain to me how the hell I drove around this "minefield" of a toxic community, day in and day out, doing donuts and burnouts and covering every possible square inch of that minefield - for twelve years - and hit so very few mines, with zero major damage (no ignore list)?

Whereas people like yourself take two steps left or two steps right on the same minefield, and get "blown up" by toxicity twelve times. The only variables are you and me. Hmmm.... think deep on that one. And in the meantime, please - pretty please - have some respect for the normal, decent people that play(ed) WoW.

I might as well ask what state you are from and then go on to label that state's inhabitants as a cesspool and toxic and horrible. So, that'd include you, your siblings, your parents, your children and children's children, your entire family, any teachers that were good to you, co-workers you like or love, anyone in that state you love, anyone in that state you've known to be good, true, honest, and positive.

Cesspool, all of 'em. Toxic. Horrible.

Mhmm, makes sense. That's very close to 'all these people are terrorists,' or 'all those people are thugs.' No defending your state, now! You and I are equals so if I have to accept your nonsense labels, you're obligated to accept mine.

It's maddening to me that people try to express knowledge of some group of millions of people - having only interacted with some dozens, hundreds, or even thousands, and gathering the rest of what they know from Twitter (hearsay), Reddit (hearsay and gross speculation) and Twitch streams. It's a huge downfall sociologically that we do this, because it's asinine nonsense. "All Americans," and "all democrats" and "all (sexuality)" and "all (race)" ... and indeed "all (game) players" act this way or that or want the same things or feel the same way.

Don't you have any grasp of the infinite? We are infinitely different as individuals.

@RecoveryPotion... you get my point now? Thinking like this is nonsensical.
