One can absolutely bring WoW into the equation when the offender brought up WoW. Also the WoW community is a toxic cesspool. It is one of the absolute worst communities I have ever been a part of. Stop defending it. They don't deserve a defense.

I'm so sick of hearing this. Like all communities they have some bad apples, even if WoW has many bad apples but no way does it mean everyone playing wow or have played wow are toxic players.

And on the other hand, FFXIV community or the dev team doesn't need defending but you see that all the time, and is encouraged by some here.

No need to bring WoW into it at all. You're having problems with another human, full stop. Whether or not they played WoW in the past is as significant as their favorite flavor of ice cream or their race.

Change your title and see the effect. It's the same problem media has these days, and it's bad. What do I mean?

"WHITE MAN CALLS POLICE ON BLACK MAN LOITERING IN THE PARK" - Now it's sensational. Now the title insinuates racism. Nevermind that white and black interact all day every day, and sometimes that interaction will be to call the police. This is an attempt to sensationalize, fearmonger, and sell papers / website subs.

No one cares what game they played before, smart people see the attempt to paint WoW in a bad light via the 'sensational headline'. And if you look at media headlines and actually let the irrelevant, sensational parts affect your opinion of other humans... that ain't good.

Human interacts with human. Not 'WoW-playing XYZ human interacts with FFXIV-playing ABCDEFG human.' None of that other stuff matters.

Better yet is the entire FF14 dev. Team bad people because Yoshi-P told them all to play wow to learn from it?
I'm trying to say that there are bad players in every single game out there, including FF14. I'm sure you all remember how people were treating Asmongold when he started to play FF14 and got banned for it.
So yes, stop adding the game they use to play to a bad person. I would rather know his or her name so I can Black list them in beforehand.

To be fair, the game did not always have a toxic community. Prior to Cataclysm, their policies, like the ones in FFXIV, seemed to favor socialization and camaraderie. After WotLK, they decided that the game needed to exclusively reward elitists at everyone else's expense. Their shift in attitude began with Ghostcrawler's "Dungeons are hard" blog post, and they've kept doubling down on that position ever since. The community gradually turned toxic over ten years of policies that rewarded toxicity and penalized tolerance.

Early pulling isn't a bannable offense but the trashtalking could be so report them if they're being offensive in shout or yell and don't worry about them otherwise.

Then he just trashtalks everyone and saying bad thing about the FFXIV community.
And when I messaged him to ask why he does this he just says that WoW is better and hes only here to raid when endwalker comes anyway so he doesn't care people blacklist him.
