Careful what you wish for. I have lived this same debate way back with WoWs Worgen. The debate between beast vs sexy/cute came to a head with one of the ugliest creatures to ever be rendered in 3d. As the devs looked to satisfy both camps, and instead of going off the male for a template, we were given this gangly, pin waisted, heavy chested, snarling dog thing.

People who want to play a conventionally attractive female with furry bits have choices in Viera and Miqote. I think it would be best if SE stuck to their template of M Hrothgar for F Hrothgar sans the hunch. Who asked for such poor posture? Who enjoys that? It's not even a beastly hunch.

I doubt there are that many who would actually play a really beastly or masculine femhroth in the first place. Something along the lines of femroe I really don't think would be too popular So, probably not too many in that camp to begin with. For that matter, male hrothgar are pretty cutesy themselves, referencing back a couple pages back or so, in comparison to the ronso base.

It's not a secret that Miqote and Au Ra dominate peoples race of choice, but does that mean Roe, Elezen, and Highlanders should be given an axe? There will always be choices that are the most popular, but that is not a reason to say that variety should not exist or that developing them is a waste of time.

"the worst" as you put it, thing that could happen is if they made them human looking. Its been said enough times, but do we really want Miqote 2.0? What would be the point of making a Beast Race, if your not gong to make Both Males and Females Beastly? This is a whole Race, not a Gender.

So based on this they should just be humans/human looking...for "Popularity"?
This really just isn't an argument.....a beastrace by design is Niche, its not meant to be popular and make money, its for Variety of Options. And there are people who may not want to be an Elf, or a Human, or a Human with a Tail, etc...a Beast Race is that alternative. And though it may not be Massively popular, there are still people out there, like many people who frequent this topic including myself; that dont want to be another pretty human-looking character.

You want something Cute and Human-looking...you have NO lack of Options.
But for those who dont want that, all we have is the Hrothgar. And with hope Lupin and Bangaa or whatever in the future. Might not happen, but ill Dream.

totally agree. that is my take on it as well, i prefer more variety over the same thing again (another beautiful, tender looking female race) and it think it‘s direly needed for female characters to have more differentiation between the races. they lack the most diversity in my eyes.
even though i personally would not play a fem hroth, it still would benefit me immersion wise. i‘d love to see npcs and other players around, even if it‘s probably not going to be the most popular race - i‘d still be glad if resources went into their development - even if certain features are unique and rather niche.


i just hope they are intimidating, fierce and QUEENS!

Well if they used the wasted resources to upgrade existing popular races then it's a win win situation for the vast majority ������
