Sadly yes you are wrong to hope for this because a lot of XIV players can't differentiate between a Sequel and taking what works, so they raise holy hell if you mention using what works in XI and making it better, or even suggesting a similar system that other people have suggested and never realized XI did it before.

The only problem I see with Summoner is unless it's a JOB and not a class branch (say Pet Class branch) Summoner would be all but useless as you can just slap summons onto any class lol.

I loved the hell out of summoner in XI more so than I liked any other pet job/class in an MMO because it felt like the power relies purely on your pets and your skill utilizing them, not them making you twice as strong (typical pet system in an MMO.)

I can see where he's going with this system, but it really would feel more classic if summoning was left to the evocation professionals like always lol. Maybe they can take this chance to flesh out Puppetmaster and Beastmaster a bit more since summoning is a universal thing in this world.
