Free Speech exists in the legal sense as well as the cultural sense. Most people focus on the legal sense and ignore the culture part. A private company, while free to make their own rules, doesn't place them above criticism for bad rules and decisions. And I don't tolerate being forced to be nice to everyone when you aren't entitled to kindness. You can't force the golden rule on people, it doesn't work that way.

Furthermore, civility is entirely subjective and varies from culture to culture and country to country.

When I can't constructively criticize someone without fear of a GM visit then the policy is a failure.

I want to help people become better players and I want to associate myself with better players. If I can be disciplined for trying to do that. Then the rules and policy are a failure. Nobody should have to walk on eggshells around anyone else for fear of retribution. And the fact that will be the outcome is repressive in nature.

Bad TOS changes are bad. Indisputably.

If you can't handle criticism. Don't play a game that requires you to compete and cooperate at a level with others. That goes for anyone.

Better yet, if you can't handle being offended. You are the one who needs to isolate yourself from the rest of humanity. Not demand others conform to your will.

Moreover, Freedom of Speech literally only means protection from censorship from the government. (Assuming USA or Japan)
