I think I’m more shocked they actually enforced YoshiP’s vision. I can’t remember which endwalker interview he said this in but he did mention that he didn’t like when players would jump the gun and tell people how to do an entire fight before they even had a chance to experience it blind. He said some thing else about it but this was his main thought when he answered a question.

I get, or I think, that most seemed to be upset about being told how to reword some things but it sort of falls in line with that interview. In a way that interview now feels like an insight to this update that I didn’t think would happen lol.

It's not an insult but it's a direct and negative order to the one person.

"Tank needs to hold the slime while DPS pull the lever for the bomb" is not.

It just seems like talking normally is against the ToS and you have to say things like a weird robot.

Everyone in the fight already knows who is killing the bomb and who isn't, I don't see how it's any less embarrassing or whatever for the person being told to stop.

Imagine being stuck in a duty for 90-120 minutes because you can't do absolutely nothing to change the outcome

I would have left after 20 mins or 30 mins. No way in hell I am staying in a duty that long cause a person chooses not listen or improve themselves.

I think that specific example is somewhat excessive, and one I probably would have overstepped myself, but if that's the line to not be crossed then that's what you need to know to not cross it.

The real discussion should be about how sad it is that a billion dollar company has to provide guidelines for how to have conversations as adults without being horrible to one another. Not that they did, but that they had to.

I imagine that would depend on what you consider "talking normally". if you normally are insulting and disrespectful, then yes, you are 100% correct, that is against teh ToS

They know if they attacked the bomb or not, not whether or not they should have.

If you kill the bomb and I say "The bomb needs to not be killed", you know that I'm talking to you even if I didn't say "Iscah stop killing the bomb".

The problem is when you get certain fights where you *have* to explain things if you want a smooth run. If you have more than 2 or 3 new people in Titania, especially if they're tanks or healers, you have to let them know what to do in advance if you want to finish in 1 go like most people would like. Suzaku feathers, Nabriales meteors, you kinda have to tell people what to do and give orders in order to get past the fight.

I shouldn't have to word everything all cutsey and super dooper polite for mechs that are years old by now. "Please don't stand in bad," "(name of player) please move to X location" etc. If people are finding basic advice and instructions like this offensive, the sooner trusts are updated to do trials the better then.

If you want a truly blind run, the only way I can think of is to do the content when it launches. After 2 years of many disastrous Titania runs, I will put in the fight's instructions into chat assuming I don't just leave instantly, because a huge amount of players don't seem to read until after the wipe happens and people's time is wasted.

It's a dumb logic because being direct doesn't mean being rude, and being indirect doesn't mean being polite. One of the things this community does best is being passive aggressive and these rules pretty much encourage such behaviour.
