About the leaving duty thing, I realize this source is on the level of dude trust me but I would still like to bring up this:

I've just talked with the French CM that confirmed it's related to intentionaly disconecting and that leaving the duty will not get u punished as u already get a 30min TO.

It seems reasonable to me that the TOS go after people who DC, wait until the party vote kicks them and then open up the game again to queue up without penalty. Leaving the duty ingame already has a punishment to it.

Omg some of you are over thinking this. Just don't use rude language or call someone out repeatedly. I had a situation in Amuroat (sp)? The last bosses mechanics always gives me trouble. It has to do with my phobia of heights and the blinding light that shoots out and can kill you. I died twice so I typed in char omg I hate this boss. The other dps says oh so you can see chat now. I thought what a odd thing to say since everything had went well til that point. I said yeah why? Now I feel like omg did I do something wrong or what did I miss? So the other dps says something snarky to me now. So being on the defensive now I said I have more than two buttons to push. I scroll back and he had said several things I missed because my chat was scrolling by and I was focused on doing this dungeon. He/she wanted me to dance partner them and use arms length. I screwed up and forgot to use dance partner. So I missed the shade way they asked. So now I'm upset I forgot to use dance partner I'm on the defensive and all the while trying to contend with the mechs of the last boss I screw up two more times and die. The healer says that's your forth death quit standing so you die, I always have problems with this boss. Then the healer adds and use your dance partner next time too. So yeah now I feel ganged up on, all because I didn't see the first comments in chat using dance partner wasn't going to make a difference on this boss for me. I didn't have party chat in its own window so didn't see the comment. I felt really bad. Sure I take responsibility for my screw ups but this is like a mob mentality. The tank was silent, I felt horrible and so much so I totally screwed up two more times because of the anxiety of having two party members call me out and make me feel like sheet. Not using dance partner is not the end of the world here. This dungeon can be cleared with any combo of dps. I didn't see the request in chat I don't often watch chat I try to stay focused on the task at hand. Me dieing to the last boss is something I need to overcome. Usually I can avoid dieing more than once but not when I am being singled out. Should the other party members said what they said no because words matter in the medium. I didn't intentionally miss the chat request or the snarky request after about arms length being used. You see how the other dps set me up to be a scapegoat? That is how bullying starts, you give you make a snarky comment about another person in front of other people so then their perspective is tainted. It's a very subtle form of griefing. It didn't help me any because I have so much trouble with the mechanics on the last boss. If I could have reported them I would have because when I left that dungeon I felt pretty bad about myself and this game.
Just wanted to add I ended up having to apologize to the healer for dieing so much.

Which is incredibly stupid. Why punish people for taking the best option with no altercation or argument? Why force people to stay in a duty that is clearly not working out, or make up imaginary reasons as to why they have to drop?

Just because something seems fair to people like you, who benefit from it, doesn't make it actually a fair or even remotely understandable change in policy. I don't leave duties a lot, but I do leave if communication is clearly not working - such as a Titania run a few days ago, where we wiped twice because of the exact same issue which was repeatedly explained. And because people in this game are completely fine with never improving or even making attempts to read chat advice half the time, that can happen "often". And now, if some idiot decides to report people who drop, that "often" can get them in trouble.

If you can't see how messed up that is, you're the one being willfully ignorant.

How often are you experiencing , duties that are running incredibly poorly ? No matter the reason?

Its appears you have extremely low patience for many players judging by your inability to see through your own arrogance.

Leaving silently because your just fed up ( we all feel it ) , and this is say your third time doing it in a week yet you've been in say 200 duties because you love to do things with others often , I would be surprised if your account is actioned .

On the contrary , if this is your third time this week and its your sixth duty in a week , I would imagine they may have words with you as it appears you have no patience with players of a slower playstyle than you and you quit out causing the group setting to be disrupted .

I sure hope that's correct and an across-the-board policy. Because the updated ToS itself sure makes it sound like leaving "often" in general can get you in trouble if someone decides to report you, which is incredibly ripe for abuse and not remotely fair for anyone.

You have any amount of skill or drive to improve in this game, and you start seeing just how poorly most people play - intentionally, at that, and to the point they'll throw tantrums if asked to do something different or contribute meaningfully, no matter how nicely it is worded. At least 5/10 duties go poorly or slowly, and that's being generous, as it depends on time, day of the week, if we had a recent patch, etc. for how often it actually happens.

Don't know about most of you, but I work for a living. I come home, do about three roulettes, and then either farm one thing in particular or do other non-DF related content until it's time for sleep or until I want to go do something else. If I leave groups who are repeatedly wiping, because I don't have a literal hour to spend on one roulette, and this happens often enough within the span of a week, getting reported for that is incredibly heavy-handed. Why is it that the time of people who are struggling to do even an easy trial or raid is far more important than someone else who thinks their time would be better spent elsewhere, and drops?

You types always come out trying to act like bad runs never happen and like somehow people who value their time are selfish and impatient. Why is it only the side playing so poorly they're wasting nearly an hour wiping to the exact same things over and over get rights?

Exactly this. No one is entitled to the right to waste my time wiping constantly to years old content when I could better use my free time doing more productive things in game. Me leaving silently the most gracious thing I can think of to do in such a case.

It's really tragic how the guy who wanted ARR combat to be about "rewarding effort" greenlit terms that practically state freestyling with complete strangers in duties is OK and being against it will punish you.

If it was this interpretation, it could lead to streamers being held in hostage.

This is more about disconnecting on purpose than press u -> leave duty
